I miss Tim Tookey

I don't know Tim Tookey.

But going to a game at HPA was great.

Similar to watching a Phantoms game at the Spectrum.

The AHL back in the day was badass. Now it's just NHL 1.5 and stupid.

AHL lifer for the skipjacks and Bears in the 80's had a 50 goal season one year. In the bears HOF hadn't thought about him in years.

I grew up watching AHL games all around the East Coast and a couple in Rochester and Hamilton.

The Bandits were the first puck I ever received...

Everything I have seen from Djoos this postseason tells me he has a #3 guy upside. Obviously didn't watch much reg season. He's steady and seems pretty smart with the puck.

I'm excited about the kid, I hope he turns into Klingberg style defensemen. Maybe he turns into the Carlson replacement :noidea:

His dad had one of the greatest hockey names in history - Par (pronounced Pear) Djoos

Goal scored by number nine... TIIIIIIIIM TOOOOOOOOKEY

Only other name I revere more is Mitch Lamoreaux.

In the Bandits inaugural season, I won a trip to Disneyland by shooting three pucks into an empty net from the far faceoff dot. The next game it changed to having to shoot through a board from center.

They didn't think anyone would win, and I did first time out. I still have a Mike O'Neill signed jersey and Slava Butsayev signed puck. Lots of Jacks and Bears stuff too. Had season tickets for the Jacks and Bandits. I learned about hockey from a Clippers player who lived down the street from me and Taught me to skate on the pond behind our house.

LOL. Sounds like what happened to me.

At a Springfield Falcons game, they brought me on the ice. From the far blueline, all I had to do was get a puck into the opposite end faceoff circle(the WHOLE CIRCLE...not the dot) to win a bike.

...they changed it to the "get a puck through the obnoxiously small hole in this board" like a week later...

If it was a BMX bike and you still have it, 43 would be interested :D

Cherry has always been a clown, IMO it's not just been the last decade or so. He is looking very very foolish right now and anyone who listens to him is an idiot.

Yeah. I agree he's always been a clown (sometimes almost literally with his suits), but he was an entertaining clown. He's not entertaining anymore and his insight is even more reliant on the basic tropes of his tired narrative . Neither was great to start with. Surely they've passed their usefulness at this point. Bring in someone new while MacLean is still solid at his job so the transition isn't too jarring.

I have some bad news, my friend...

do they actually charge money to get into these viewing parties at arenas?

No, its free. And they just had people line up for the previous ones, but they ticketed this event since they knew the demand would be so high.

I know at least 7 people that had their phone/computer ready to go the second they dropped. Only 1 person actually got tickets.

And I assume they sell food and stuff?
