win #1 against Boston- Boston shoots 39% from the field...

win #2 against Boston- Boston shoots 41% from the field...

win #3 against Boston- Boston shoots 51% from the field...

win #4 against Boston- Boston shoots 34% from the field....

for the most part- the Cavs did it with defense. Their defense has definitely markedly improved in the postseason.

You better hope that you don't play Golden St. because I saw the Celtics miss a ton of wide open 3's. Those aren't shots that the Warriors are going to miss. The Celtics are just a gritty defensive team that can occasionally get the offense going.

I don't think it was a choke really. Boston was just a big time overachieving subpar-average team in the playoffs this year. I Don't get this "depth" deal people talk about. Depth of Sub-par players sure. Outside of Tatum they are pretty lousy team. Gritty defenders but can't rely on any of them offensively.

Even if Irving/Heyward were healthy they would make the finals but still get squashed by the Rockets or Warriors. But reaching the ECF/Finals is like being the nicest guy in prison. Nothing to go crazy about. The conference is poor its the ONLY reason the Celtics were there to begin with. If this team was in the West, they wouldn't have gotten past the first round
dude cmon now- they still had quite ab it of talent

Smart- #7 pick
Tatum- #3 pick
Brown- #3 pick
Horford- #3 pick
Morris- #12 pick
Rozier- #16 pick

its a team littered with lottery selections--- a ton of great athletes like Smart, Tatum, Brown and Rozier that are very hard to beat defensively- and the guys have no ego and play hard-- they dont take plays off and dont make mistakes

I totally agree with you that they were totally lacking a crunch time scorere where either Hayward or ESPECIALLY Kyrie would ahve been big time difference makers (if not so good defensively obviously).

One of the things that really helped the Celtics this playoffs was the lack of egos and the team style of defense.....and those are 2 things that hayward and kyrie may not be as great for

but- damn-- with Kyrie and Hayward its doubtful the Cavs pulled this off considering a lot of things.

He could easily be their best player at start of next year.

Its gonna be golden state.

If it is somehow Houston- and the Cavs would have lost tonight I would have been furious....they would have a good chance against a Houston team with CP3 with one leg.

They are going to have to shoot the lights out against Golden State, Iggy will have to remain beat up, and the Cavs bench players like Clarkson, Korver, Green, will really have to take it to the Warriors scummy bench of Jordan Bell, Quinn Cook, Kevin Looney etc.

They have a lot of good defenders.. But they don't have much offensive talent. Irving/Heyward would of course picked up some slack for them offensively and they would have beat the Cavs but its about winning titles of course. If they ever want to see titles, they're gonna have to get some scorers. Defense only takes you so far. Jury is out on HeyWard. We'll see. Irving needs to stay healthy. Thats another problem

... and it makes sense for Celtics to trade Kyrie and Hayward ? Really ?
they were DYING to have a scorer like either one of those guys today...having 2 of them would have been too much for the Cavs.

They NEEDED a guy that could make his own offense tonight on a level that a guy like Kyrie and Hayward can. Those guys will be invaluable to the Celtics if they are healthy next year.

The Warriors typically go 8-9 deep in the playoffs. Sure, the 3 you mention are mediocre players (Bell's only a rookie). But let's take a look at the Cavs and Dubs top 4:

Lebron
Love
Thompson
Korver

Durant
Curry
Thompson
Green

When we start going into rotations, taking Iggy out of the equation, Cleveland's bench is not better than Golden St.

But yes, if Cleveland has any chance of a title, they better hope Gordon and Harden shoot lights out tomorrow.

Cmon what? Did you see that shooting display tonight by the Celtics? THey couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. If they connected on just a QUARTER of those 3s that would have been an easy win since the Cavs don't play a LICK of freaking D.

All those free looks and nothing but BRICKS. That ain't gonna get you anywhere

are the avengers all of the Cleveland haters that have to eat shit until the sequal?

Quite the opposite. I'd say the Warriors are Thanos and Lebron and the Cavs are the Avengers - coasting along until the shit storm comes along.
