Interesting pick. Seems sketchy but this kid was a beast last year. Doesn't matter if he's good if they can't block for him though.

What the actual fuck?

2 top tier OGs and Guise on the board and they take a no name RB?!

Fucking terrible

I love how regular people act like since they have never heard of a player they must not be good. Secondly people say its a reach pick well in my opinion if that player probably wont be available the next time you up to pick then he probably isnt a reach and if he turns out to be a solid player years from now nobody will care where you picked him

Huh? No name? I am not in love with the pick -- don't hate it either -- but he's definitely not a no-name.

I think the Penny pick is somewhere interesting. Hard to argue with his production, but I thought with how deep this RB class is that they could hold off until round 3 and still get a similar or even equal talent. The fact that they went ahead and pulled the trigger tells me that they must have liked Penny that much more than the others, which I am ok with. Seeing Sony Michel come off the board just a few picks later also tells me that waiting until the 3rd round could have been a mistake. I was more surprised that they picked at all than who they took.

Now I guess we'll see if anything shakes loose with an ET trade. I gotta think JS is talking to Dallas (or already has) right now.

IMO, outside Barkley, he was the #2 best RB in the draft... I'm more surprised that they picked as well but Penny is obviously the guy they wanted... Not sure if he would've been there in the 2nd round... He's been climbing the draft boards...

This morning I actually messaged a friend of mine saying that whoever landed Penny was getting a hell of a steal. The Seahawks did reach, but I think they got arguably the second best running back in this class in an era when running backs are not being valued very highly.

Guice and Penny were tied for my #2 HB. I'm excited to see what Penny will do in the NFL.

LOVE IT! This is the guy I have coveted... I've been high on Penny in this thread... I'm PUMPED!!!! PENNY!!!!!

Well, I didn’t expect that, but he does look good in the highlight reel, Kid has some wheels on him, strong .. good break away speed ... Him and Carson could be a nice rotation... We need a corner now BIG TIME..

I honestly will be surprised if Thomas is not dealt tomorrow... We should land a 2nd and then some... Josh Jackson is still on the board... Curious to see if Hawks make a move for him...

From the highlight video, it looks like Penny doesn't do a lot of dancing in the backfield and hits the hole quick. Also looks like he has deceiving speed.

One thing that leaves me questioning the Penny pick a bit is level of competition. Stanford, BSU, and my alma mater were probably the best teams he played in '17...not exactly the most impressive list. He did finish with 5 straight 200+ yard games though, which is pretty insane.

I like the pick. We needed a top RB and we got one. We've taken risks early on defense almost every other draft why not on offence for once.

I’m a little nervous about losing Earl, such a great player, but I understand the move... As far as Josh, he fits the type of corner Pete and John like... He would be a nice pick up..

Here are his rushing statistics against P5 schools + your alma matter, assuming it's Army:

ASU: 18 carries 216 yards 1 TD
Stanford: 32 carries 175 yards 1 TD
Army: 14 carries 221 yards 4 TD

Total: 64 carries 612 yards (9.7 YPC) 6 TDs

There was a Clear #1 RB in this draft. Barkley.
There was 3 SEC guys that everyone played up, well, because SEC. and then Penny.
Of those guys I watched, Michel overtook Chubb at UG. Never was hugely high on Chubb. Michel I loved.
Guice, did anyone here really watch him on a regular basis?

Over 175 yards (each) against Az St and Stanford.

Go Hawks.

My opinion is that we should deal him if we don't think we can re-sign him to a reasonable contract.

If we hold on to him and don't re-sign him, that's a colossal failure IMO.
