next season we should have ample cap space . so get a couple of good guys and then draft some guys

Just out of curiosity, why do you think we will have more room next year? Who is coming off the books?

I guess I don't understand how NFL contracts work but needless to say, I don't think we should be paying Robinson 10 -14 million a year after he is coming off an ACL tear.

What do you think Paul Richardson and Albert Wilson will sign for per year and what do you estimate the cap number for 2018 will be. To be honest, that is who I would go with given Smith's history with Wilson and the fact that he can be a PR. I like Richardson stretching the field of course.

Well more than their possible value.

Robinson can at least be worth the value.

Albert Wilson’s history with Alex Smith saw his best season, as a two WR, with a massive five hundred yards last season. Hell no.

Paul Richardson had 700 yards last season. He will likely get paid 7-10 million per season...hell no.

Any thoughts on Lee and Moncrief?

One last thing, Richardson would have been 2nd on our team in reception yards with about 70 yards behind Crowder right? If he wants 10 million a year, I agree, we need to move on. We need a solid number 2 or 3 WR and I don't want to burn a 1st or 2nd rounder on a WR unless we have no other choice.

Nah man. Don't give the Redskins weapons. Makes it a lot harder to take their land.

Oh, shit. You mean. . .

Sorry

We need good playmakers that can carry Alex Smith is what we need. Paul Richardson is wasted on this team with this QB. If we want a WR, we need to look for the bargains because only Allen Robinson has proven to be worth a big contract.

Except Richardson doesn’t even have the same athletic prowess. Richardson may very well be a better WR, but let’s not pay to find out. Instead, I would pay Pryor much less to find out if he can improve.

I think Paul Richardson is a little bit better then what you are giving credit for.

He has good hands. Pryor..... does not.

He made one of the best catches Ive ever seen in a playoff game. Forget Beckhams catch this one I believe was more difficult:
I'd imagine playing receiver his entire life that he is a way smoother route runner then Pryor.

Richardson missed 2016 because of an injury so his career numbers are a bit skewed.

Unless you are Doug Baldwin the hawks passing game really spreads the ball around. Graham, Lockett, Baldwin, Richardson, Kearse when he was there etc.

I think Richardson could be the next Golden Tate coming out of Seattle. Showed promise in Seattle was offered a contract by Lions that many thought they were overpaying for at time. Turns into a WR1b

I would be in favor of offering Richardson a 4 year 36 million contract with 20 million guaranteed.

not too far out of line but a risk but hey sometimes you have to roll the dice a little

Golden Tate final year in Seattle
64 catches, 898 yards, 5 TDs
He's gone on to average 1074 yards, 94 catches, and 5 TDs a year in 3 seasons in Detroit

Paul Richardson final year in Seattle
44 catches, 703 yards, 6 TDs

Not saying Richardson is going to go onto have the same success as Golden Tate did post Seattle but they do have a lot of similarities. Both 2nd round picks too

Extremely different players. Golden state was far better in Seattle and is renowned for his toughness. I am not saying Richardson cannot be good. I am saying we shouldn’t 7-10 million per season to find out.

I agree Richardson has far better hands and is likely a better route runner. It should be particularly scary then he hasn’t put up an 800 yard season.

Graham, Lockett, and Kearse are not impressive.

On the surface, Richardson should be a better player than Pryor. One thing that Pryor has over Richardson is athleticism which cannot be taught.

Philly guy has been here 5 min, pay no attention SoCal. On March 14th, hopefully everyone can move on. The haters (of the deal: letting KC go, acquiring AS) will continue to hate and breed negativity around the team and or fan base. Others will move on and cheer and continue to support whomever wears burgundy & Gold.

NP - he doesn't annoy me. I just find him amusing & clueless.

2-3 years of a failed Alex Smith experiment with no real hope at a SB. Followed by a rookie qb who either rides the pine behind a stop gap year 1 or goes through the growing pains. 1-2 more years to get acclimated to NFL = 5 years

get it?

Great - so now you have the ability to predict the future. You pulled all of those observations/predictions out of your ass. There have been plenty of QBs who rose from obscurity to become legit QBs. Heck - Cousins is an example of that as is Prescott & others.

Even if Smith fails we have no way of knowing if some other QB shines for the Skins in the next few years (due to injury or some other factor). It happens often enough in the NFL. And of course there is the possibility that Smith is not simply some way overrated game manager who will do terrible. Just because some folks here have some very confident takes does not mean that they are right on this topic. Only time will tell how this unfolds so your 5 year timetable is a joke at best.

The redskins should absolutely pay either Robinson or Richardson $7-10 million. Both would be instant upgrades for the Redskins, and Robinson is a proven commodity. If I had my druthers, I'd be calling Robinson and setting up a meeting at 12:01 am on the morning of free agency.

Robinson excelled with Blake Bortles at qb. Nothing more needs to be said.

Robinson, a DT, an OG, and a MLB should be the priority free agency signings.

i would sign robinson but you have to understand he might not have the impact here year one that he could year 2 coming off and ACL . would you be willing to accept that ? i would

what about resigning long ? would that count ?

DT and MLB are good too but would resigning brown count at mlb ?

i am sure we will look into logan , poe , wilkerson and richardson . hopefully we can get one
