Gotta give credit to tzill for that, he was the biggest promoter.

We were all (correctly) happy that we didn't overpay Uribe, and that we only signed Tejada for 1 year...but no one realized just how bad Tehnada would suck.

And not resigning Rent as well. I was actually pretty content with the Tejada signing at the time.

I know the Giants have some depth at catcher in the minors, but if we don't feel they are ready I would be more than happy to have Chris Stewart back. His hitting sucks but his defense straight up saves runs.

If he could hit .250 in the majors, with the walks he gets he'd have like a .330+ OBP, and that's already >> the crap we have batting there now. Add in his GG level defense and having him bat 8th and that's a perfectly fine ML SS.

He's not Tulo, but if he can hit .240/.330/.400 with that defense, there's your SS.

This, except I still think Adrianza will be better.

Most of us were. Sometimes the GM makes a move that looks decent, and the shit hits the fan.

Look at the Adam Dunn signing. The guy has done nothing but walk and hit HRs at all levels, he's pretty young (30 I think), he gets a 4 yr deal in a position of need in a hitters park, and boom...worst contract in history maybe.

At least Tejada was just a stopgap.

Kinda off topic but there were some guys wanting to sign JJ Hardy last offseason. I wish the Giants would have listened. 280 avg, 25 bombs.

I think a lot of us would have liked him, but remember (like Cal said) that everybody we want, may not want to come here. Now if Sabean and the Giants Ownership could have had him and let him slip through the cracks, that's another story altogether.

It's not as if Tejada was seen as a savior though, he was signed as a stop gap.

And not resigning Rent as well. I was actually pretty content with the Tejada signing at the time.

I think Rent talked his way off of the club in all honesty. He threw Sabean and the FO under the bus when he said he was insulted by their offer in the offseason. Oh well, I don't think Rent makes this team much better this year (at least not too noticeable) with what he could bring to the table.

I've got to say, the situation doesn't look good, but all you fuckers need to be at least happy you can watch the games. I've seen about 100 less games this season than I did last. Ultimately aren't sports about entertainment? Yes, a lot of shit has gone wrong, and next season should be better. In the mean time, we all need to keep the faith and at least try to enjoy what's left of this season.

you know what kills me?

Detroit and Cleveland practically walked into Cabrera and Peralta. They were throw ins for so-so trades, and boom, one year later they're both fucking all-stars....

Why can't we have that happen to us ??!?!??!?

Buddy, consider yourself very lucky you CAN'T watch the shit they put out there right now...

Can't say I feel very entertained lately.

I could really care less what Stamos hits (to an extent). The fact is, he makes everyone else better.

1) he plays GG level defense
2) he sees lots of pitches, which forces the opposing team into the bully sooner, and MOST teams have pretty crappy bullys, which means the actual hitters will have an easier time of doing what THEY get paid for.

He could hit .230 and still be a positive for the team as a whole.

hahaha remember that there were always shittier times msg. If the FO plays their cards correctly with Lincecum's and Cain's Free Agency then the Giants have a very bright future that's well worth watching for now and for years to come.

I would say we got our versions last year: Burrell off the scrap heap, Ross the same, Torres...and this year we got Vogelsong.

Difference is we got 1 amazing year (and a ring!) out of our lucky pickups. Peralta and Cabrera (especially) are keepers.

I'd still rather have our 2010 than those 2 players.

Grated, it's a-ball, but Adrianza seems to have finally learned how to hit. One can only pray that he continues the trend, because his glove is apparently magical.

Agreed. But 2011 feels like toast, and we are properly mourning and prepping for 2012.

Why can't we pick up a HOF 2B as a throw in on a trade?

Huh?

We did?

Oh...

Nevermind...
