I stand by being tired of seeing this team try and take the shortcut to elite at every turn and failing. And I suspect that until we become the Browns kind of bad, nothing will change.

As for is Kirk "Special", he is a franchise QB. If that aint special enough for you.... well you should love Jackson or Mayfield as those are the guys I expect to be on the table when we draft.

As for why I hope they get nothing for him... you shouldn't be rewarded for doing dumb shit.

Here we go again. The team is now doomed if KC leaves. Such bullshit. Why was I called out last year for being mad at not fielding offers for KC? I felt like it should have been done in case this sicinero happens

The only person that has said that is you Dean.

Fact... if we are once again looking for a QB we are one again rebuilding.

If you want to see that as Doomed, have at it. I see it as spinning our wheels and chasing "Special" (Elite) at the QB position which has lead to years of ignoring other parts of the team. But if you think going back into that cycle is a good thing, enjoy the next few years.

But don't bitch if we end up right back where we were three years ago ok??

And you were called out because fielding offers last year would have been just as DUMB as considering starting over again now is.

Because it would have meant starting over. It also would have meant another year where we likely ignored the defense while we chased that "Special" QB. You want to sight how the Eagles and Vikings are so awesome and how Wentz is Elite". The Eagles spent years sucking while they built the defense and NOT chasing Special until they had a defense, ground game and other parts to support that "Special" talent.

So yea, starting the rebuild last year would have been DUMB. Considering it now is still DUMB.

that's your opinion. We could suck with KC at 30M per year at QB. There was a great chance that KC wouldn't be here in 2018. That is why you field offers in 2017. Hey I always liked KC but his numbers are over rated and the contract is severally over rated for his talent. If he comes back I will route for him, if he leaves I will not be crying like you.

Serious Question Dean... how old were you the last time the Redskins were actually GOOD?? I mean consistently good.

I wont be crying because I seriously hope he goes, we get that 3rd rounder in 2019 as a comp pick.

See ere is the thing. IF we did some how manage to sign him, even at $30M. It would mean for at least the next three years we are NOT preoccupied with chasing "Special" So maybe, just Maybe we use the draft to continue to fix our defense, add depth to the O-line.

But sure, let him walk. Hell trade him for a first so we can trade up to get Darnold... continue to put second tier players on the defense... then bitch about how come it worked for the Eagles but not for us.

He made the statement that KC is not that special. He is giving his opinion that this guy is not the savior. Cautious? The guy wants 30M per year and most of you guys are ok with it and refuse to think otherwise. When a GM that you guys respect says something like that, it raises eyebrows to the contract that KC is going to get. Tjat statement proves he was not in love with KC

Problem is I’m pretty sure it was Scotty Mac that took smith over rodgers, so not quite sure about his qb evaluating

The guy has done it for three years. not one fluke year, but three. Has been top 5 in most all categories. I seriously doubt we would suck with him leading us. He needs pieces... as all QB's do. Three years in this league and he has the stats.. he has em with never a running game in his three years and this year with scrubs at best for WR's. You are insane if you think this dude is overrated. Forget Brady, Rodgers or Brees... you don't need that kind of talent to win,,, two arnt even playing this weekend. You need quality pieces around an above average QB. It's all you need. Please tell me if you believe McCoy would have the same numbers and even wins had he been this teams QB for the last three years. Enlighten me.

NOne of that Logic shit Rep. Dean has LIKED Cousins since day one. Which is why he has predicted for the past two seasons.. well we might suck with him, so we really should just trade him and get some one "special"

you make good points. I think KC stats are inflated b/c of the system and no running game. He is a great fit for our system. In the big games that we won this year it has been the defense that stepped up. With all the injureis this year of course KC did well. But we are talking SERIOUS money right now. I wouldn't be hurt if he leaves. If he stays fine. But are we a guaranteed playoff team Paying him that kind of money? NO.

And there is your first mistake.

We should be getting BETTER through the draft. Not chasing other teams "Special" players that they don't want to pay for. How many times does the build through free agency need to fail before some of you realize.. its a bad idea.

But IM curious... where should we use this cap space we save?? What players should we sign. Because we wont be drafting any one to start on the defense as we will probably use that first rounder on a QB after all in your perfect world.

Look at the FA's the Jags signed on defense. It can work. I think we are getting better through the draft.

Again dude... you have this grand vision on how we IMPROVE by not having Cousins because we have this cap space.

Please share. Who should we target??

See I have an idea of what we should do if we were in fact to retain Cousins. I suspect you have nothing other than we would have cap space to play in free agency, and that's about the depth of it.

KC today should have three years left on a 5 year 65 million dollar deal that they made at the end of the 2015 season if they had any evaluation talents with all their resources then and beyond directed at bettering the team. They probably could have even kept Jackson in 2016 instead of wasting a high draft pick on "I need a Docston"... I have zero faith this team is capable of making any right decisions. It doesn't even matter who's making these decisions,,, its just the aura of the team.

lol. I cant lay out the plan right now. Im just giving an example on how the jags defense got great with the draft and FA. The have an average QB and are in the AFC championship game and maybe the Super Bowl.

The sad part is, the people who condemned Dan for his big spending chasing elite ways in free agency, are the same people saying... we need cap space in order to be MAJOR players in free agency this year. :gaah:
