If you were talking about Proctor, your insiders were wrong.

I was referring more to Woodbey. Proctor has always been a possibility but Woodbey much more likely. Proctor finally shut it down with Oklahoma coaches last week.

You've been insinuating Oklahoma was going to get one of them for quite some time now, though it doesn't seem like that was ever seriously the case.

Oklahoma has been heavily recruiting both for a while and both were actively communicating with the coaching staff. I knew we wouldn’t get Woodbey unless we got him on campus but we never did I, but several people seemed convinced he wasn’t sticking to Ohio State in either case and that seems to be true. Also, Proctor has been talking to the Oklahoma staff up until just this week and with the people around him influencing him toward Oklahoma there has been a general consensus that Oklahoma would be a serious threat right up till the end. Never said Oklahoma would get him. Just that they’d have a shot at him right up till the end which seems to have been the case. Sucks to lose in state talent like that. Congrats, you got a good one.

I never understood the talk about Proctor. He's never really wavered. Even when he committed, I knew OU would still keep coming after him and that he would even take an OV there, which I guess didn't happen. He's seemed solid all along, and yeah I'm really excited for him to get to Columbus. Even if we lose Woodbey, our safety haul in this class is outstanding.

Speaking to people around him because of all the OU legacies around him there was a strong feeling he’d end up at OU when it’s all said and done. Ultimately, he just wants to experience something different. Best of luck to him.

All I know is that iron sharpens iron, steel sharpens steel.

I wouldn't want to have to defend Big XII offenses if I was a CB/S. I'll bet you that had something to do with his decision as well.

I think most programs are telling recruits, that a lot of defensive coaches will not be at OU next year. So any relationships they try to develop, are shot lived. Kish and Stoops better be gone and not at all sold on Cooks.

Right. Or maybe he wants to go to the unquestioned current DBU in college football.

Not hard to do in a run-first league.

Like a little kid playing the outfield in baseball.
Or we're just much better at developing defensive back talent than any team in the Big 12. That's why he's coming here. Oklahoma is an elite offense, Oklahoma State is good, and that's it. Nobody is afraid of Big 12 offenses, sorry.

Those first round picks aren’t a hard sell.
That they are not. Should add another to that group in 2018, also. I am impressed by the haul of DBs Texas is bringing in, but now they need to actually develop them.

Flood of CBs coming in for Cook to Texas. This will be a legendary class if they produce on the field. Orlando has greatly improved the defense.......we'll see what they do with the DBs. Texas has to get back to being DBU

Texas will not significantly improve until they recruit better at OL, QB and LB.

Looks like we will take 1 "reach" at DE

Alex Williams, formerly committed to West Virginia, offers from Iowa State & Virginia expected to sign with Ohio State tomorrow

Alex Williams, Pickerington North, Weak-Side Defensive End

Pickerington North Three-Star Defensive End Alex Williams Will Sign With Ohio State on Wednesday

With a glaring need at defensive end following five-star Brenton Cox's decommitment earlier this month, Ohio State began searching far and wide for replacements. They didn't have to look too far, though, to find Pickerington North three-star defensive end Alex Williams.

The 6-foot-7, 250-pound Williams, who is considered the 32nd-best weak-side defensive end and No. 591 prospect overall in the Class of 2018, has been committed to West Virginia since May. But sources told Eleven Warriors earlier in the week he is set to flip his pledge from the Mountaineers to the Buckeyes on Wednesday, and it appears a press release from the school has spoiled the surprise.

Has the measurable, guessing he's very raw and needs a bit of development though.

Oweh seems like a long shot at this point. Williams & Smith + maybe a suprise looks like what we will reel in at DE.

I don't know that Texas has ever been DBU. They were one of the better schools at putting DB prospects into the NFL for a few years under Mack Brown, but they were never the best.

That said, you're definitely bringing in a hell of a haul in that department. Sounds like OSU backed off of Cook earlier this fall.
