He has been awfully quiet on social media since he left Oregon. While as Ducks head coach he was tweeting everyday telling everyone to Do Something and Have a good day if you want to. But since his arrival in Tallahassee he is pretty quiet for the high energy Taggart. My guess is he is a bit ashamed of his actions, a little embarrassed to be out there expressing his energy.

Because he's recruiting. Trying to flip the native Florida recruits from Oregon to FSU :heh:

4-Star CB Isaiah Bolden - He originally committed to FSU before flipping to Oregon over the summer. Bolden decommitted from Oregon when Taggart left and is now considered a heavy lean to FSU.

4-Star WR Warren Thompson - A one time FSU lean, Thompson committed to Oregon over the summer but re-opened his recruitment a week ago. FSU will look to lock up him this weekend while he’s on campus.

4-Star DE Malcolm Lamar - The 6-foot-5 pass rusher from Armwood was never offered by Fisher’s staff and he committed to Oregon at the end of the summer. Even though he’s still committed, most believe it’s only a matter of time before Lamar flips.

I do like where we're at. But for $1.7 million, Oregon could have nabbed one of the best DC's in the country. Or at least should have tried. They shouldn't have overpaid for a DC just because he was about to go to FSU.

Leavitt IS one of the best DC's in the country. We weren't going after Schiano if that is what you are hinting at.

Leavitt built a USF program, turned a terrible Colorado program around, and greatly increased the defense at Oregon in just 1 season. He was qualified enough to be the head coach at Oregon, so to keep him on as DC is a huge get and worth every penny.

I knew, it just wasn't pertinent to the conversation because it was in the NFL. You're going to sit here and tell me that Leavitt is deserving of a $1.7 million contract? That means a guy who lead a super average, if not bad, defense in 2017 is now higher paid than about 60 CFB head coaches.

And Michigan is paying Harbaugh what, 9 million a year to finish 3rd or worst in his division? Michigan paid a combined 2.3 million to have one of the shittiest P5 offenses this season.

This down year was expected do to the roster turnover that we knew was coming last year. And that roster hole was because of the previous staff. Add on the injury problems and everything is just fine. I think Alabama probably would have lost more than 1 game, even with their joke schedule, had they been down to their 3rd string QB.

You'll have to search pretty hard to find a ranking that puts your SOS above ours, so again, perhaps you should set the stones down on your glass porch when talking about joke schedules.

Same with talking about roster holes because of the previous staff 3 years in, I'd be happy if we could keep our marginal players for 4 years.

Let's pretend there was a lot of difference between your first string and your 3rd string qb....shit, Peters was probably the better of the 3.

Is the down year expected again next year...or is the 8 win season going to come as a surprise.

I mean, you are playing 7 teams with winning records next year...Jimmy Jams 7-10 record against winning teams suggests that 8 wins might be a ceiling.

A staff is three years in, but they're only really 2 recruiting classes in. So when we're looking and holes in our junior and senior classes, that goes back to the previous staff. It just is what it is. Our team was extremely young, and that's because it relied heavily on Harbaugh's first two full classes.

Next year Michigan should be awesome. We return pretty much everyone that made up a top 5 defense. Our offense got better as the year progressed and should have a solid group returning. If we get some decent improvement in the off season there, we should have at least a 10 win team next year....if not more should Shea Patterson become the starter.

But back to Oregon, I don't think this guy was worth giving one of the highest coordinator contracts in the country to.

Harbaugh is worth every penny. Not only in the financial benefits he returns to the program, but in the leaps the program has taken since he got hired.

We had a bad offense. Partially because it was super young, partially because major players got injured and partially because of recruiting mistakes in the past 4 years, which span to Hoke's last class. I wouldn't put much of it on the coaching job. They improved significantly throughout the year, especially in the run game, and battled back from some pretty key injuries.

To be fair, their OC is making 700k less than Leavitt.

I do think they'll take a very big step forward next year, especially is Patterson is cleared to play QB. If he plays, they're likely a top 10-top 15 offense. Getting Tarik Black back from injury and DPJ coming back with a year under his belt will be huge. If they commit to Higdon and stop wasting time with Evans and Walker, their run game should be fine, as well.

Honestly, if Patterson is eligible in 2018, it will be Ohio State, michigan, and everyone else in the B1G.

Leavitt took, for the most part the same players, started a true freshman 3 star at DT and a 4 star CB and improved them from 108th in efficiency the previous season to 38th this past season.

Returns to the program? no major conference titles ever? more khakis per capita in michigan? more sleep overs with recruits than any grown man should ever take?

Yeah, but they also have a passing game coordinator making 1.15 million as well. I'm just saying they have all that money invested in the offense and it looked like shit most the season.

And yeah, I think they'll be better next season, but I don't think it'll be because of the offense. Although I do think the offense will be improved, only because it was awful in 2017.

I'm shocked Leavitt is this stupid. Go to FSU and compete for championships and HC opportunities. No one is looking to hire an OU defensive coordinator as a HC.

Having Peters not progress until late in the year, then losing Tarik Black didn't help. I think they'll take a huge step forward next year though. They definitely don't have an easy schedule next year, but I think they improve their record. If Patterson is immediately eligible and they can stay healthy, they'll be a legit conference contender and may compete for the CFP.

On the flipside, if Patterson goes in and they remain stagnant on offense, you have to wonder if Harbaugh isn't starting to feel the heat.

The real person that you Duck fans need to thank is Royce Freeman. Bear Bryant couldn't have fixed this one. He decided not to play but was still allowed to speak to the team and hang out on the sidelines was fantastic...for Boise! The fact that your coaches let that happen is entirely on them.

In the words of the Royce who rolled, "It's all about me."

I can see them still finishing 3rd in the division, especially having to play on the road at Michigan State and at Ohio State. Ohio State is gonna be loaded on offense, and Haskins will be an upgrade IMO, at least in terms of accuracy. And Michigan State has a ton back on both sides of the ball. I think Michigan State only started 2 seniors on offense and defense combined.

I think they'll beat MSU. They won't have O'Korn back there tossing picks everywhere. Patterson is such a dramatic improvement on him it's not even funny. Being on the road at Michigan State isn't that big of a deal. EL isn't exactly a terrifying environment. I think Patterson is superior to Lewerke, and michigan's WRs are legit. I could see michigan winning that by 2+ TDs.

OSU will be a different animal. You know I love Haskins, and I also think he'll be an upgrade. I am also extremely excited to see Dobbins take over the backfield. He's truly something special, and will be in the Heisman discussion right from the start. I'm worried about the defensive backfield, as they're losing Ward and Webb. I absolutely love the young talent, but it's inexperienced.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Michigan beat MSU, but by 2+ TD's would shock me. Even with Dantoni's worst team in EL they didn't lose by that much to Harbaugh's best team thus far. Patterson is better than Lewerke, I'd agree, but MSU seems to get up for this game more than any other on the schedule. Plus, I actually think the score would have been worse had it not started to rain. MSU controlled that game in the 1st half.

Pretty much agree spot on in regards to Ohio State next season.

So is this the official "won't blame coach Jimmy" when the Dawgs roll their asses again next year in their own house thread?

We're getting soft. Between the recruiting thread and this, we're agreeing too much.

The only thing Harbaugh has done at Michigan is give them publicity and something for ESPN to talk about. He really hasn't won anything, actually he hasn't won anything, and he cant beat Ohio State. But keep taking your spring game to Rome, sleeping with 5 star recruits, and rolling around in nuts on some guys grave, and call yourselves back because its something worth talking about.

Last time Michigan had gone back-to-back seasons with 10 wins was 15 years ago. Yeah, he hasn't done anything there.
