I would have liked to have Leavitt at FSU, but no worries.. If this keeps OD happy and posting, it's all good by me.
Uh, you mean the guy who produced the 46th best total defense and the 82nd scoring defense?
And last year produced the 126th ranked total defense and 126th scoring defense?
This shouldn't be exciting to any fan. Those numbers are horrid. If I were an FSU fan I'd be pissed my team even went after this guy.
Leavitt hasn't shown he can build a dominating defense????? LOL
The guy turned Colorado's entire team around thanks to his defense, he took CU to the PAC-12 title game....Colorado...
Turned a terrible Oregon defense into what it was this year, the numbers don't lie, he really improved that squad. They are also very young.
This is a HUGE win for the Ducks. Now it's time to get to work!
My mistake. His wiki profile says he started in 2016 as the DC at Oregon, but it must have been after the season. He still produced a pretty bad defense at Oregon. Hoke could only do so much as a DC, he wasn't the guy who made the final decisions and made the recruiting choices.
Enjoy Taggart for his one and only season at FSU. He will be the Buccaneers head coach in 2019.
Yeah, I wasn't looking at that. I was looking at his coaching timeline on the side. I realize I was wrong about the timeline of events. When you see "2016-present" I wasn't exactly diving deeper into that. It still doesn't change my argument, he had a bad defense this year at Oregon.Wiki:
University of Oregon[edit]
Leavitt was hired to be the Defensive Coordinator for the Oregon Ducks on December 14, 2016.
Just STFU already and go back to spankin it to Jimmy Jam![]()
i dont know if anyone has argued that he had a good defense at Oregon. the most arguments i have seen is that Oregon had a better defense in 17 than in 16. if a 1 year turn around of 126 or so to 46 or so plus his recruiting isnt enough to keep him i dont know what is. Oregon's defense should improve again. they played a lot of young guys.Yeah, I wasn't looking at that. I was looking at his coaching timeline on the side. BTW, I do think it's funny this is part of the Jim Harbaugh coaching tree. If you want me to "go back to spankin Jimmy Jam" I could easily start saying how awesome Leavitt is because of his time under Harbaugh.

Oregon was his dream job too 372 days ago. He's got his dream job now - thank you for your thoughts
I knew, it just wasn't pertinent to the conversation because it was in the NFL. You're going to sit here and tell me that Leavitt is deserving of a $1.7 million contract? That means a guy who lead a super average, if not bad, defense in 2017 is now higher paid than about 60 CFB head coaches. And that's what kind of Harbaugh fan you are. You had no clue just as you had no clue Leavitt actually has some good defensive coaching experience, even under THE Jimmy
$1.7 million dollars man.i dont know if anyone has argued that he had a good defense at Oregon. the most arguments i have seen is that Oregon had a better defense in 17 than in 16. if a 1 year turn around of 126 or so to 46 or so plus his recruiting isnt enough to keep him i dont know what is. My team is doing absolutely fine and right on track. We also have one of the top DC in the country. So I think it's perfectly acceptable to point out how bad of a hire this is. Our record vs. OSU or MSU is irrelevant to that. That will turn itself around in due time.

He has been awfully quiet on social media since he left Oregon. While as Ducks head coach he was tweeting everyday telling everyone to Do Something and Have a good day if you want to. But since his arrival in Tallahassee he is pretty quiet for the high energy Taggart. My guess is he is a bit ashamed of his actions, a little embarrassed to be out there expressing his energy.Naaaawwwwwww. He knows that Tallahassee is the place to land alot of the top recruits. Maybe he had a bad nightmare in those 372 days?

I do like where we're at. But for $1.7 million, Oregon could have nabbed one of the best DC's in the country. Or at least should have tried. They shouldn't have overpaid for a DC just because he was about to go to FSU.Yeah you knew... MMMMhmmm
$1.7 mill is steep, but if he keeps some of the recruits coming in on D it's definitely worth it. $1.7 mill to Oregon is like $50 to us. They got dough
What you are lacking to understand is he took a defense practically last in the NCAA to mid-40s in 1 year. These kids are 19-20 years old and it takes time to build a defense/team.
I thought a patient Michigan fan that "likes where UM is at" could understand such things.
