I've seen those, didn't think he would actually leave because of it
Think about it if he wins just one national championship at aTm the boosters will erect a statue, name the field after him and give him interest in as many oil wells as they can find.

No brained with a 75mm golden parachute.

Very good point, instead of following in Bobby Bowden's legacy he is trying to make his own at a new school

There is a small chance that Jimbo gets significantly better recruits than he already gets at FSU, but his schedule is going to get a whole lot harder. Not sure what he is expecting. But if his shit didnt work in the ACC, it sure as hell wont work in the SEC.
It should work a hell of a lot better than Sumlin’s

Who the fuck needs South FLorida for recruits when you have Texas to recruit from and would be the only Texas school to say "wanna play in the SEC?"?

It doesn't hurt to have both.

He is leaving a program with a recent tradition of playing for and winning national titles True.
He is leaving a fertile recruiting ground True. But also headed to another fertile recruiting ground.
He is leaving a football obsessed deep pocketed program True on the football obsessed part; not so sure about the deep pockets since FSU has been dragging its feet on upgrades.
He is leaving essentially a relatively straightfoward pathway to national title games every year Not so straightforward since Clemson took over as top dog in the ACC, Miami has become resurgent & the rest of the ACC is much tougher than it was just a few years ago.
For a lesser program At the moment, yes, but the ingredients are there to get better - they just need the right people in place to make it work.
For a trickier pathway to success True, as long as Alabama, Auburn & LSU are still heavy-hitters; but it's no longer a cake walk in the ACC like it was 4 or 5 years ago.
For a place with even more delusional impatient boosters Maybe.

When people say its not about the MONEY, it is always about the MONEY. Ding-ding-ding! Give the man a cee-gar!
Jimbo would have taken the UTEP job if they offered him 8 million per year instead of A&M's 7.5 million.

What a magnificent Greedy Fucking Bastard. Tip your cap for Jimbo making it rain

Looks like he pulled a Petrino and just slipped out the door without saying anything to his players.

That could work in FSU's favor.

The players ain't gonna be moaning his departure. His actions have already told them what they
meant to him. They may play today with a chip on their shoulder. One of those..."we'll show
that m-fkr he don't mean shit to us."

You just lost your coach to one of those Texas schools, today isn't the day for you to make this comment.

Go look at the Rivals 4 star and 5 star athletes Florida vs Texas and get back to me.

We were fine after Bobby B retired. We will be fine now. Jimbo has been a shitty coach and I'm glad he's gone.

As if our world ended when Bobby B retired. Jimbo like Bobby was over due

Time to get some younger blood in there. The recruiting pipeline is already on place

He's not a shitty coach since he turned FSU around from being crap during the last few years under Bowden into a winning program again. He couldn't fire assistants cause FSU wouldn't give him the money to hire better coaches.

Bowden needed to go and so did Fisher. He recruited great players but his coaching was average

FYI. Florida is loaded with great high school players

Bull Shit. He had the 7th highest paid staff in the country. And all of them had 3-year
contracts.

Ask Fisher...because his buyout is he has to pay the remaining contracts of all of his assistants
that we don't keep. Somewhere around 5 to 7 million dollars

I hope for y'all's sake that Trickett is one of them getting severance pay from Fisher. The performance his OL has had the past two seasons borders on criminal.

Trickett and Kelly (The DC). They're both pitiful.

For the most part, Trickett's lines have always been lacking.

I don't think he can properly coach more than 7 or 8 at a time.
He sure as hell, can't recruit. No matter how many OL we have on the
roster, we never have any depth.

Fisher swore by him. It would be proper if Fisher was forced to take Trickett with
him to AM. When he first arrived everybody was hot on him because he was a
Marine. Nobody ever said what Country though. Does Peru have Marines?

When Trickett was at Auburn every high school coach in the state hated him and so did his players. Worst line coach we have ever had. I was at a function with Jimbo 3 years ago and told him to dump Trickett and he blew me off.

I believe it.

When Fisher went to LSU for Saban. He got Trickett to go along with him.
That lasted one year and Trickett became the HC at Glenville State after
Saban put him on the road.
