why would angle do this? Should have flown Jericho in or added Rowan and Harper.
Should have just totally scrapped the Balor/Wyatt match and just put Balor w/Shield.
Angle's return to the ring is WrestleMania worthy and AJ/Finn feels like too big of a match to waste as a one off with no storyline hype or followup.Should have just totally scrapped the Balor/Wyatt match and just put Balor w/Shield.

Friend of mine actually said this. Great idea, tbh.Should have just totally scrapped the Balor/Wyatt match and just put Balor w/Shield.
We don't know how many of WWE's talents are seriously sick(in case anyone didn't know Wyatt and Reigns have been pulled for huge medical issues(I've heard possible Mumps but that's not confirmed)) so they may not have enough talent to fill the PPV and that's why they brought AJ over. Also you can't just have 3-4 jobber matches on the show the people in attendance paid for without causing a huge circus and outrage so while not the way anyone would have chosen to do it WWE is desperately trying to scramble here.
I feel like WWE is trying to make things right to the people who paid compared to just saying sorry our hands are tied and delivering a shitty show.
The changes actually make the show watchable. Prior, we had a nonsensical main event and a supernatural match no one gave a shit about. Now we get a big return in Kurt Angle and AJ/Finn whcih could tear the house down. Who gives a shit if there's no story. TLC didn't have any to begin with.

If your point is that the PPV is better on paper than it was 24 hours ago I agree. The problem is that they cashed in two of their best chips to make a minor PPV more watchable when if booked properly they could lead to months worth of compelling TV.
Ziggler and Finn could tear the house down. So could Zayn and Finn. Those both would have been suitable replacements for the Bray match.
I'm not against AJ/Finn if it's the start of a long term storyline but if it's just to a good match at a PPV without a bigger goal it seems like a waste to me.
Angle was my favorite wrestler during the attitude era so using the cachet of his in ring return as last minute replacement for a sick wrestler on 48 hours notice feels like a waste.
Once again if it's the start of a bigger story than I'm intrigued.
Yeah, it is better to make changes like this in a minor PPV instead of Survivor Series. Royal Rumble is set up a little more for adjustments with the over-the-top match having a few mysteries and last week changes every year.
I wonder if Survivor Series is going to have a SS elimination match with Raw vs Smackdown or have 2 matches with Raw vs Raw and Smackdown vs Smackdown. If it is inner-brand, I can see them using this to set up Raw's with The Shield + Kurt Angle + another babyface vs Miz's group. I wouldn't want the Miz to be part of it but be matside and wrestle for IC Title later on.
Who knows at this point. Viral meningitis can linger for quite awhile and if the outbreak continues to go on, SS could be impacted. They might not even have enough people to do multiple SS style matches.
