Maybe. Lets see how Verlander's 33-year-old arm responds coming off of a 124-pitch start.

He will get rocked.... Sadly it's inevitable

They should have started Peacock yesterday. He was a much better road pitcher this year than Keuchel was. And now they have to win game 7 (assuming there is a game 7) with Morton on the hill.

Idk why they hate McHugh so much. Dude has been quite good for them since June.

I wouldn't bet against him. He hasn't given up more than 2 earned runs in a start in the last 2 months. Of course, the way the Astros are hitting right now, two runs will probably be enough for the Fraudkees to win, but I don't see Verlander getting rocked.

Nothing. Well, actually there are a few things wrong with stats. For one thing, they hold back the evolution of baseball because the stats are so sacred to baseball fans. Like, if stats weren't consumed and worshipped with such affection, baseball would probably move to a more reasonable schedule. Like maybe 130 games a year with a season that started in mid-April and ended in mid-September. But, as fans, we want our favorite players to have a fighting chance to break records held by players that played in 154 or 162 game format.

Baseball simply should not be played in the snow.

They can skip the early season stuff, there's enough warm markets, but they choose stupid things like letting the twins play at home on opening day (them having a field with no roof is beyond stupid).

In a perfect world, what you say makes total sense. But I think it is set up like it is because otherwise the warm market teams would complain about having less home games in the summer when school is out and crowds tend to be bigger.

I'm like that with Notre Dame and Ohio State. Duke is one we mutually agree on.

OK stats dude, here is your challenge of the day. Has there ever been a regular season 104+-win team that had a losing streak equal to or longer than the Dodger's 11-game losing streak this year. Thanks for taking my call. I'll take your comments off the air.
Wasn't that hard. It's easily the longest losing streak by a team that won 104 games. 4 other teams are tied for 2nd with 6-game losing streaks:

1976 Reds (108 Wins)
1946 Red Sox (104 Wins)
1939 Yankees (106 Wins)
1904 Giants (106 Wins)

Appears they got it all out of their system back then. I was really hoping the Cubs could keep them out of the Series, but nope.

I will not watch a Yankees-Dodgers series. I'm already not watching these LCS's

The offense was the best in baseball during the regular season and now George Springer can't hit anything and the entire team is hitting what .150?

Yes the Yankees pitching has been solid but wow, where did this offense go?!?!?! Does anyone expect Verlander to pitch a gem again?

Is this over? I mean the Yankees only have to win 1 more game......

I am seeing a Dodgers v Yankees World Series

The Indians' offense wasn't quite as good as the Astros, but they ranked 3rd in the AL in runs scored and 2nd in OPS. They slashed .171/.263/.287/.550 agains the Yankees in the ALDS.

Yankees pitching is coming into each game with a solid plan and they're executing like a mother fucker.

Verlander in his 4 career starts facing elimination:

30.1 IP, 7.5 IP/GS, 1.48 ERA, 0.923 WHIP, 9.79 K/9, 2.37 BB/9, 4.13 K/BB

His last two were gems:

Game 5 of the 2012 and 2013 ALDS. 17 IP, 0 ERs, 6 hits, 21 Ks, 2 BBs

I'm trying to feel bad for the kid. Because of his pops....

Is it wrong to want the kid to fail to spite his pops
