Now that I have had three hours sleep and let my emotions cool a bit I am pretty proud of my team. I picked them to be 7-10 point losers based on playing a very good team in a very tough place. With less than a minute to go they were tied (should have been ahead) and that is without several members of the defense who went out hurt.

Dox missed what might have been a game winning TD but he made two other catches that were very good catches. We saw some from TP. If they continue to grow in the offense, Reed and Kelley get healthy I think we can be tough on offense. Scherff and Williams are beasts.

If the D gets healthy and continues the way they have been playing we are looking so much better than the past few years. DJ, Iron Man, Zac Brown, Allen and more have added a lot to the D.

There are no moral victories but their are signs of being a good team. I think this team is better than some thought this year.

I mostly agree. Last night proved to me that this team can play with anybody. We have a defense and a Coordinator not afraid to use it. They are young, fast and hit hard. Their achilles heel (outside of the injuries sustained last night) is that they make way too many stupid errors that result in penalties. You can't do that against the best teams in the league and expect to win. Still, they held their own. They just got exhausted and injured at the end. They were on the field way too much.

As for the offense, Pryor is disappointing to me to date. He does not run good routes and his hands are very suspect. Even his TD catch in the first drive was lucky at best. That his a ball the he has to use his big frame and out jump to catch. The is the way that ball was thrown. Instead, he pushed off and caught it falling down. More times than not, he plays that pass that way and it is intercepted. Hopefully he works this out as he is a very raw receiver with great physical skills.

We need to find a better solution at RB. Kelly ran pretty well last night, but he can't stay on the field. Perine.......WTF, dude? Just can't count on him right now. Saints are looking to deal Petersen. While I'm not a fan of trading for older vets, I might listen to what they want. But I sure as shit wouldn't give up much.

Although his stats don't show it (at least 3 drops last night), Cousins played a great game. He put the offense on his back on that last drive. It was all him. If not for Doctson dropping that pass (and yes, it should have been caught, but it was a very tough catch) KC wins that game based his performance. For you critics out there, he finally did what you have been demanding that a $24M QB does. He did more than game manage. I can't wait to hear some of your responses. OF course some won't respond at all and will just melt into the woodwork until he has another so so game and then you will be back with the pitchforks.

The injuries are a serious concern for me. It was almost like the body bag game last night. I hope none are too serious, this bye is coming at a good time. I was a real sceptic after preseason, but I am becoming a true believer. We can win this division this year. Maybe more.

Yes KC stepped up big time in the 2nd half. I was impressed with KC scrambles. Extended drives and he played smart. Doctson has to make that catch. Kc made a great throw. JOn Gruden mentioned that KC had Reed open on the sideline but you cant make any better throw then he did to Docston. Also, that drop left too much time on the clock for KC to get in FG range.

Norman is going to be out 2 weeks. So he will miss the SF game. We should be able to beat SF without him. Perine is just bad. I agree with you about going after Peterson. He would provide a nice jolt to this offense. The defense was on the field way too much last night. They couldnt get of the field and made stupid penalties. Even so we should of taken the lead in the game.

I liked how our team stepped up but we couldn't finish. On the last play I was expecting a short pass to pickup the first down to kill time. I wasn't expecting both Doctosn and Reed going to the endzone. Its a gamble and it almost worked. Well should of worked. The down side is you leave way too much time on the clock. I did not understand the run on 2nd down to CT into the middle of the line. Why wasn't CT or Crowder used in the passing game last night? That baffles me.

This loss hurts. I know its KC but we should of had this one.

This loss doesn't really hurt especially if they win a lot more games moving forward. The real issue will be the injuries & if any of them are long term. The injuries, stupid penalties & basic lack of a running game hurt them last night. Preston Smith is going to have to do better than that & he basically cost them a TD last nt. Gallette just had a bad game. Can't say much bad about the secondary since they were so banged up.

Jon Gruden is full of shit about the pass to Doctson - nothing wrong about the play except that Doctson didn't catch it (& it was a tough one to catch). I almost get the feeling that Jon Gruden is ashamed to talk about his brother when things are going well. He only acknowledged him when things were going wrong. Screw Jon Gruden - part of one of the worst MNF teams ever - ESPN is going downhill rapidly.

As for AP - I have mixed feelings on this one. The Redskins appear to be trending in the rt direction & I hate to see them revert to quick fixes again. Not really sure if AP has much left in the tank (he would like be playing more for Saints if he was the same AP). You have to view what you would get with the current AP - not the memory of what he was a few years ago. I also wonder if he wouldn't be a clubhouse distraction if things don't go his way. He already has shown once this season to be a bit of a whiner. I am alright w/ the Redskins sticking with what they have at RB for now & addressing this area next offseason. With this team you can't just build for the current season.

Disappointing loss, but I am proud of the team overall. Time to see how they will respond in Oct.

Actually the catch was not hard at all. He had it for a good 2 seconds controlled and he used is other hand to brace himself from hitting the ground INSTEAD of using that arm and hand to cradle the ball. If you are going to hit the ground ball first then you must have two hands on it. He had time to protect the ball. The actual catch was made he just didn't protect the ball.

I don't trust Perine at all. Getting AP would be a smart move.

We always seem to find away to lose a game instead finding ways to win the game. The dumb def penalties (Smith), drop passes will always hurt. But through it all in the end we put ourselves in position to win the game and that's all you can do as a coach. Therefore it is up to the players to make the play and we not there yet however I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I agree with the RB present situation. Perine appear to taken his eyes off the ball on his fumble. We had out flanked the Chief D on that play. Perine had alot real estate on that play. Just can't count on him right now. I like Jeremy Hill better.

Injuries and Penalties. Reason 1 and 2 why the Chiefs won last night. Reason 3 would be the lack of running game. I can't remember which one of y'all said it but someone here said during the preseason that the running game would be an issue and damn, I wish I knew who said that so I could give them credit for it........:D:D:D:D

The game was there for the taking. The actual catch was made he just didn't protect the ball. Yes he had possession of the ball which appeared to be a TD but he couldn't complete the catch which I thought he could have easily made. He had plenty of time to cradle the ball before landing on the turf but we have a habit of taking one step forward and two steps back.

True no RG, to many penalties, to many injuries, drop passes etc but through the errors and unfortunate injuries we still put ourselves in good position to win the game.

Doctson should no know better. You have to have two hands on that ball.

Dox had a dudes fingers all up in his face mask as he hit the ground. Can't blame him too much myself but I understand the frustration.

Same. More worried about the injuries at this point. Happy for the early bye now.

A bit of perspective.

Washington is the only team to play 3 teams whose offense is in the top 7. Philly is 7th, LA is 1st, KC is 3rd. The Redskins defense should be patting themselves on the back and telling that offense to step it the fuck up.

The only injury is Norman, who will miss the 49ers game. We should be able to beat the e49ers without Norman. All other injuries will be back in two weeks.

The injuries are a serious concern for me. It was almost like the body bag game last night. I hope none are too serious, this bye is coming at a good time. I was a real sceptic after preseason, but I am becoming a true believer. We can win this division this year. Maybe more.

1st paragraph: Agreed, team has made strides, added talent and are much improved on defense. The offense has taken a step back due to experience at WR and the lack of a true threat at RB.

2nd paragraph: Pryor is an anomaly and appears his confidence is not where it should be. Why he didn't high point the TD throw is beyond me but he caught it none the less. Last night we saw progress from Pryor but I have to admit, as much as he was hyped this summer, I am very disappointed in our return even with his limited experience.

3rd paragraph: I mentioned picking up Peterson in a trade with the Saints a few weeks back and really no response from anyone and probably a few laughs. The team has proven they are serious contenders in the NFC. If this team improves on what they already have going, they have a chance to not only make the playoffs, but do some damage. I'm on board with trading for Peterson who would provide a REAL instant threat and will also help open this offense up. If the staff really feels they have an opportunity this season, then go get Peterson.

4th paragraph: While Cousins performed well last night, (Doctson drop didn't help) it simply wasn't enough. On 2 particular 3rd & short opportunities we did not convert and had to punt. Either the play calling or execution was poor and while I do not put that squarely on Cousins, he is our leader, QB and as we all know, TD's when games in this league, not FG's. The whole offense needs to improve and I believe it will moving forward. Cousins & Co are too good not to and we need help at RB. The OL played well last night in pass protection and were physical up front.

5th paragraph: Again, you are correct. The Skins are a serious threat to anyone they play. The injuries are a concern and fortunately we have a bye week coming up. The Norman injury worries me most but it appears most are not that serious, we shall see. Nice to see the optimism and deservedly so since this team is competing at a much higher level than last year. It is evident as you can see it on the field.

HTTR!

Jay Gruden made a point of saying Reed was open on the pass that Dox dropped so Jon was not full of shit and the replay backed both of them up.

I had no problem with where he threw it. They have also been on Cousin's to throw some balls like Dox caught the game before and let these guys go get it. I think Dox is going to make his share of those catches. We need to give it time. The one that bothered me the most was the one to TP across the middle. It looked a little wide but it looked like alligator armed it. He is a big boy, he NEEDs to make those catches.
