So, one of the topics that's been asked, but hasn't been addressed (maybe it was, there's so many posts in between when I'm up with the rest of you I may skim at times) who dies this week?

The season preview made it appear as if the mountain and the hound were going to square off. My money would be on the mountain to lose that battle. This season has shown they're all about reunions. And unless they stop of in Winterfell first, I feel like they have an Arya - Hound scene written. Similarly (if they transport Arya to King's Landing) I think there will be a Gendry - Arya scene (don't know if Gendry is going to Winterfell for the finale, if so, he's up to go).

If a Lannister goes, I think it would be Cersei. I think Dany has to lose a member or two of her council (can't see it being Tyrion, but they do need some shock value), I'll continue this thought later.
Littlefinger dies and I think that's it. The whole Arya vs. Sansa thing has never made and sense and they've made Arya way too OP for her to not figure everything out and own Littlefinger. Plus if Bran saw "chaos is a ladder" he definitely saw "I told you not to trust me" which means he knows Littlefinger got Ned killed. That's enough for him to make the list.

There's no way any semi-likable or main characters go.

The whole Arya vs. Sansa thing has never made and sense .

It does given their history, and incredible antipathy towards each other. But only if you don't think they've changed.

LF has a big ol' blindspot about Stark women, starting all the way back with Catelyn.

Arya basically spelled out that they are very different Stark women and they each wanted different things. Sansa lived in fairy tales and thought the world was all sunshines and rainbows while Arya wanted to be a warrior/tomboy. While they each have toughened up since the beginning of the show, they still hold different views of the world and how it exists. There is still a rivalry. Whether they can put it all aside and work together is the big question. They seem to be playing against each other right now.

All I will say for finality from me is that I do not think we know enough to not lay some blame on GRRM. Maybe he was just a prick to work with (possible) and they just decided to move on. Maybe they were not hearing him out....taking his ideas too fully (also possible).

.

Or maybe he was just difficult to understand with that turkey club in his mouth...

Has anyone wondered if Samwell might have "issues" working on the side (technically under) the woman who roasted his father and brother?

In this season's final episode, Cersei kidnaps a dragon. We find out that dragons are easily influenced by ruthless women. That way, each side has a dragon.

And you get a balance of power going into the final season.

Maybe Cersei doesn't have a "baby" per se... Maybe she has enlisted Melisandre to give her the power of the "killer queef"? WATCH OUT JON SNOW!!!

I like the theory that Arya is playing the game she learned with the faceless men and is lying to lure LF into his eventual death.

I have wondered if she is truly pregnant.

That's kind of where I am, plus I think they're trying to make sure they keep control of the Vale's heavy horse.

as much as I love Arya being a badass, something about it feels very careless to me.

I understand the issues they've had in the past. I don't understand how Arya could be legitimately falling for the letter ploy. As soon as Sansa sent it in season 1 Catelyn and the Maester Luwin immediately knew it was just the Queen forcing her to write it. That's also why I don't buy that the other Northern Lords would care if they learned about the letter. I'm pretty sure Arya is just playing it up to get Sansa worked up so she talks to Littlefinger and he thinks everything is going according to plan.

On a similar note I'm note sure how Littlefinger got the letter to begin with. I thought Robb brought the original letter down south somewhere and showed it to Catelyn. I guess maybe Luwin made a copy and then that's what Robb brought down south which would have left the original in Winterfell? I don't know.

Well my guess is that Arya (and Sansa) are playing LF. But LF buys it because of how protective of Jon Arya would be. He was her favorite sibling.

In an earlier episode someone mentioned that Luwin made a duplicate of all all crow correspondence. Right after it was said LF made his scheme face.

I thought I remembered something along those lines. It's still a bit odd that Robb would take the duplicate and leave the original in Winterfell.

Baelish has no love for Arya. He will do what he needs to to protect Sansa, but I doubt he will do anything to protect Arya. Arya is a threat to what he is trying to accomplish and Sansa is his investment at this point.

Brienne leaving foreshadows something happening in Winterfell. LF has it set up so that anyone who can oppose him is gone with Brienne and Jon out of his way. Maybe Bran will step in?

I just don't know what exactly is going to happen there.

Of course he wouldn't help Arya. That wouldn't be his game. Sansa is his creepy fetishistic stand-in for Cat. He wants to control Sansa again, and once again seriously underestimates her. He's just driving a wedge between the sisters, or trying to.

Could be wrong, but my bet is that it's actually SANSA who convinces Arya about Baelish's intent. Sansa after all got front row seats as to how manipulative and duplicitous Petyr is. Just like she had front row seats to the bastard of Bolton.

She's been playing LF for a long time now. Including getting him to bring to Knights of the Vale to the battle of the bastards.
