Need mechanic help.....

I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma 4wd 4.3L truck. Hard to start and I am getting a check engine light code p1351 ICM High voltage.

I have changed the following parts

ICM
Ignition coil
Distributor cap / rotor
Alternator
Temp sensor

Use the truck for hunting but Louisiana requires inspection sticker. Will not inspect with check engine light.

Any assistance on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'd check the ICM harness or harness connector for an open or ground.

Appreciate at it, I have checked the connectors and they seem fine . I guess the fun work will begin this weekend tracing the wiring.

Disconnect your negative battery cable for a good 5 - 10 minutes then reconnect it and you're good to go.

Take it to Autozone, get them to check it out and give you some helpful tips. Thats my best advice short of taking it to a qualified mechanic. Its likely a short in a wire someplace.

That is probably the best bet an open wire.

I had a similar issue on an old Dodge Caravan where the harness was on the exhaust manifold. It caused the whole ECM to short out, only if I caught it sooner. Luckily for me I was able to find an ECM in the junk yard. I replaced it and fixed the wires and it ran fine until I junked the thing.

When you fix the problem disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and press the horn for about 30 seconds to clear out any residual electricity from the capacitor and it will reset the check engine light.

EDIT: Forgot to add, If you clear out the check engine, most states for their emission tests will still fail. Before you take it, for the test, run the car for about 50 to 100 miles under 55mph.
