problem solved, gremlin chased away.

mechanic called as he was on a quiet, no knock while braking problem. issue he said was resolved by turning the brand new rotor a 2000th, nothing really.

no knock, no charge.

who does that?

moral of the story…"walking brake pads" require a rotor turn and the problem will be over and my rotor was brand new with a "fast grind".

GET IN THE GAME KIDZ!

The build trucks around the heater core.

watched a few youtube clips and loved the one guy who said it took him 4 hours as a novice mechanic. hell, it takes me 2 hours just to find 2 sets of tools for removal. I must have walked 5 miles back and forth from the garage to the street where the truck was. then i had to lower the front passenger wheel well skirt for access to one fucking shroud mounting stud, which i promptly snapped off cuz it's 45 years old. oh yeah, i have A/C so there 3 more hidden fasteners…then there the ducting shit on the driver side that fell out for no reason while i was cussing at the temp controls and how they work. oh yeah, then there was that decayed little 1/8 inch tubing i ripped out and aint replacing cuz i don't care.

lolz.

so the trucks all back together and heaters kicking ass, but not w/o 1 more curve ball tossed at me…no blower motor and no heat thru the defroster vents until i tapped into this youtube clipper…

of course my trucks to old for resistors or whatever that guy talked about. I did however take his advice and went out and hammered on the blower motor in my truck and the fucker kicked on.

whatever…it's blowing heat now.

@mrwallace2ku
you should be able to take it to Auto Zone or similar parts stores and they will hook it up and let you know which one it is.

Advanced Auto Parts even installs the battery for you, although they are crap and don't last.

you drive used shit, get ready to fix it every 6 months.

my latest nightmare is a split axle rear drum brake job on the 78' GMC 4x4…ALL FUCKING WEEKEND COTDAMIT!

rear wheel cylinder has been spewing brake fluid for the last 2 weeks, driving it everyday has been a nightmare…PUMP,PUMP and PUMP them brakes at every stop sign, light and traffic situation. fuc turning those drums too, aint got the time or cash.

PARTS: $250

LABOR: $0 (not including the six pack-o-beer)

GREASE-N-GRIME LEVEL: an epic 10 out of 10 on the scale, wife will have to throw gallons of hot water and dawn soap on me for an hour or so, plus throw away whatever i'm wearing of course (asbestos).

LOST TIME GOLFING: priceless
