Cousins also helped with the pick and fumble. Seattle did not have to work hard after those mistakes. The Vikes gave the game away 3 or more different ways.

As a Seahawks fan, I was hoping for the fg. The Vikings were having their way with the Hawks D all night long. I thought the game was over when the decided to go for it. At least with kicking the field goal you are putting the football back in Russ's hands....which we all know what he is capable of in that situation now.

Going for it was the right decision. They convert that 8 out of 10 times at least.

Only thing they got going for them is the remaining schedule isn't horrible. Play the Bears and Lions 2X each. Also get the Falcons, Jags, and Cowboys (without Dak). To me, that should be about 5 to 6 wins.

Just have to find win 2 or 3 games vs GB, CAR, NO, & TB if they want to have a chance to get that last WC

It was the right call to go for it there. Seattle wasn't stopping shit all game. Maybe play call was too predictable but I would have gone for it too.

Don't give the ball to Wilson with a chance to tie it.

Also, member when Minny kicked that FG in the playoffs against Seattle a few years back? Aight, I kid there but still kicks don't seem to be automatic this year.

I would've kicked.

But it wasn't outrageous confidence in your guys, your line especially, to go for it there.

no it was actually pretty terrible. that seahawks defense was worn the fuck out, and getting their butts handed to them by the vikes' rushing offense. assuming the vikings kick the fg, then the seahawks pull off an unbelievable drive AND 2-point conversion to tie it and send the game to OT, i like the vikes' chances if they get the ball first, as i'd guess they'd have continued to just jam the ball down seattle's throat. if the game went to OT and seattle gets the ball first, scores and wins, all you can do is tip your hat to the victors, they were just the better team. but no, zimmer is a poor head coach, he's one of these guys who's good in a coordinator role, but trash when given the HC title. he needs to be sent packing, he can be a d-coordinator for a HC who's actually worth a shit in his role.

The Seahawks defense was worn out but you think they shouldn't have taken the chance to get that one half yard and seal the game rather than give Russell Wilson a chance to steal the game?

That's some strange logic.

Fans only care about results. Had they gone for the field goal and Wilson marches down the field scores the TD and 2 point conversation they would have blasted him for not being aggressive.

The announcers cheered on Zimmers' decision, but it was a terrible one. Here's the deal: you kick a field goal and you're up by 8 points. The Seahawks would have to score a TD and convert a 2-point attempt. At worse, you go to OT. I thought it was a bad idea from the start.
It was a typical Zimmer decision. Despite all that talent, he has never even sniffed the SB.

Being aggressive and being stupid are different things.

*Vikings go for it and succeed* "What a brilliant call, and that's the right decision!"
*Vikings go for it and don't succeed* "Should've kicked the field goal!"

*Seahawks pass and gets intercepted* "WHAT!? Why doesn't Seattle run with Lynch?!"
*Seahawks pass and get a TD* " Brilliant call by Pete Carroll... Belichick may just be getting passed up by his former apprentice!"

That said, I would've taken the field goal there. Take your points (field goals aren't free, but they sure as fuck seem to be this year with no fans in the stadium), make it a TD + 2PT conversion game.

I think you kick the FG 90% of the time there..I would. A 1-3 team should kick the FG...if it were Seattle a 4-0 team I think you go for it. You gotta play it safe against a top 3 team in football. The worst that can happen is you go to OT. Terrible coaching move

Apprentice? Carroll preceded Belichick as coach of the Patriots.

the FG was a gimme. they make the kick, and even IF the seahawks take the eventual possession and score, they still have to get the 2pt conversion and even then, the game only goes to OT.

he's a d-coordinator masquerading as a head coach. the sooner the vikings realize that, the better.
