Dixon was so far ahead in all the pundits polls before he got hurt. It was his to lose prior to injury.

Also, I think there is a huge difference in 5 greatest players and 5 players with the best (Heisman worthy) seasons not to be involved in the Heisman ceremony.

Case Keenum is not one of the 5 best players, but he might be one of the 5 biggest heisman snubs.

Great idea for a thread.

In no particular order, and assuming the normal "Heisman Rules" (Offensive player that can score TDs and rack up yardage.).

Woody Dantzler - Clemson - First guy to go 2,000 and 1,000 as a QB. Precursor to the dual-threat QBs that could actually throw the football.

Antwaan Randle-El - Indiana - One man wrecking crew on an awful awful football team.

DeAngelo Williams - Memphis - Guy ran for nearly 2,000 yards in back-to-back seasons for...Memphis.

Calvin Johnson - Georgia Tech - Best WR I've ever seen. And yes, that includes Jerry Rice.

LaDanian Tomlinson - 4,132 yards and 42 TDs in 2 seasons. Pure stud.

Who's the best defensive player of the last 15 years that isn't named Suh or Teo? I'd start there. Homer pick Terrell Suggs. Or maybe Paul Posluszny.

Julius Peppers was a monster. AJ Hawk was really, really good in college as well. Patrick Willis too. I guess that's my list.

Worth mentioning that Pat Fitzgerald was 2x Bednarik and Nagurski winner just outside this timeframe. Same for Randy Moss. Just 1 year out of the timeframe, but he played video game football at Marshall. It was hilarious.

Dixon for sure. Guy was set to win the Heisman before that injury.
