It really gets fun if Wisconsin beats Michigan in the Big Ten title game and Washington wins out. Then you have three two loss Big Ten teams along with one loss Penn State. Who do you put in the playoff then?

Then Wisconsin gets in and probably no one else. I think you guys pass the eye test w/that win over LSU. I'm not sure the same can be said for PSU yet.

Let's say Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Penn St all win next week. Then either the Badgers or Lions win the CCG.

1. Bama
2. Ohio St
3. Clemson

4. Wisconsin, Penn St, Washington, Colorado, Oklahoma, Okie St? Assuming either WA or CO win the Pac and OK/OkSt wins the Big12?

Locked unless Michigan wins.

If Washington loses, it shouldn't even be really be a debate. With a Washington win, it becomes interesting. Right now, they have played terrible when faced with adversity, and they don't really have any great wins. I think the Washington v. Wisconsin/PSU debate comes down to style points, and whether Washington can (A.) Play well when things get rough and (B.) Prove they are definitively better than the rest of the non-USC PAC.

I think OSU will be in either way, as they should be.

But the beat Stanfraud.

OSU has a much better resume than PSU if they beat Michigan and PSU beats us. Let's divide up their schedule into two sections the Michigan-OSU-PSU part and the rest:

In Part 1, we have:
Penn State 10 @ Michigan 49
Ohio State 21 @ Penn State 24
Michigan 17 @ Ohio State 24 (just a guess)

In Part 2, we have:
Penn State with one loss (to Pitt) and one ranked win (neutral site over us)
Ohio State has ranked wins at Wisconsin, at Oklahoma, and vs. Nebraska. They are undefeated.

Clearly OSU wins both Part 1 and Part 2. Since that is the entirety of their resume, they are clearly superior. Frankly, it isn't even close.

Comittee sees it this way

PSU
Conference championship: Check
H2H: Check

OSU
CCG: Nope
H2H: Nope

Winner PSU no diggity

If TOSU gets a win against Xichigan, we are in. This game has me nervous a bit. This is there last run with a lot of seniors on the roster.

actually, I was more worried about going to east lansing. felt like a trap game. those bastards have ruined more seasons........ 3-7, nothing to play for other than spoilers.......... I was right.

they got their bad game out of them. they are at home. Urb and the coaches reamed their asses to get it together. weather will be better.

Washington is in if they win out. They'd add 2 quality wins and be a 1 loss P5 champ. In order for 2 B10 teams to make it either UW or Clemson need to lose and OSU needs to beat Michigan. There's also a 50-50 shot that a 2 loss Colorado who wins the P12 would get in ahead of a 2 loss Penn St who wins the B10. The Buffaloes are likely to jump PSU this week in the rankings

A weird possibility exists where PSU wins the B10, Oklahoma wins the B12, Colorado wins the P12 and OSU goes 11-1. If that happens you've got a weird round Robin of H2H results, a non conference winner with the best resume followed by Colorado with the next best resume but how do you not take the B10 champ who beat OSU even if they've got the 3rd or 4th best resume of those teams. Stuff like this happening gets us to 8 teams so I'm cheering for it lol

:nutswing:

But why stop at two??? Let's get 3 in there.. maybe even 4. Law of averages says Bama's due for a loss anyways.

So the conf championship in the BIG means nothing if OSU beats Michigan... at least that's what I keep seeing. Either we expand to an 8 team playoff or change the way conferences are set up altogether.

I wouldn't say that. I'm one of the few here who think there's a CHANCE OSU beats Michigan and still gets left out. If Bama, Clemson and UW win out they're in period. That means the r the spot would come down to 11-1 OSU vs 11-2 Wisconsin/Penn St. I don't think OSU is a lock in that situation at all. That's not popular here but the committee hasn't shown yet that they're going to put in a non P5 winner yet so I'm not sure why we just assume great wins and no bad losses is going to get you in over a Veeam like Wisconsin who would have great wins, no bad losses and a title. Yes yes head to head I get it. We've never had this situation before though so I'm not sure we can assume anything. I think we will get a peek into the committees mind set tomorrow. If OSU stays at 2 then I think that says something. If they drop thenot I think that says something too

This is one of the main reasons I posted the thread on the 8 game playoffs. To have a #2 vs #3 both with one loss at the end of the season be meaningless if OSU wins is unacceptable.

Never mind you meant the Champ winner is meaningless. Which is still another reason why there should be an 8 team playoffs and not 4 which leaves out at least one conference champion.

Can't really say that til we know who wins THE ACC and the P12. If VT and Wazzu win those leagues then all bets are off and anarchy ensues. Shit if that happens and OKST wins the B12 while OSU beats Michigan in a OT game and Wisky beats PSU you could make an argument for Bama and 3 B10 teams

Id go with

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Penn State
4. Ohio State

In that scenario.
