If that is what we assume is the market I totally agree with you. I still don't get how a player like Hurns got $10M per year plus incentives. I think Allen is actually a good WR and Hurns...I just don't see him as much of a player. I know he had a decent year, but I think Jax is really going to regret this.
I think Hurns is good, but definitely not 10mil per year good. Giving the #2 WR on your team that much is asking for trouble.

Seems about right. Cheap for age but expensive due to injury history so it balances out.

Does Rivers actually need a #1? He seems to manage with whatever he is given.

The offense last year really dropped off without Allen, close to 24ppg first 8 games and 15ppg the last 8. Rivers had 18 TD's with Allen(7 of 8 games with 2 or more TD's) but 11 without him(3 games of 0 TD's). Rivers has been able to make up for the lack of weapons before, but Allen really helps. Hopefully he can stay healthy all throughout the 4 years of this contract.

I agree. It doesn't seem like as bad of a contract as some people are making it seem.

If Keenan can stay healthy this is an absolute steal. His health history is why the Chargers could get such a good WR for that money in first place. Rivers and Allen are great together.

Also, Hurns sounds pretty underrated. More people should watch him.

If he can remain healthy (as people have mentioned) I think this is a good signing. Hell other receivers are going to get a hell of a lot more

Terrance Williams is already asking for a 10M contract, I say no I won't give it to him, but the markets not agreeing with me.

it's Jerry Jones... he could care less what the market says anyway.

Makes sense. Last time he took a contract below open-market value to play with Peyton and win a SB. 5 mil a year, 6 mil guaranteed. Nothing against Eddie Royal, but he should be making a lot more than Eddie Royal money. I think Maclin money is easily in his range, and no prob with him asking for it.

Well to be fair before coming to Denver his best season was 67 REC 740 Yards 7 TD's. Before that he never even had more than 630 Yards and 2 TD's. Not exactly big time numbers. He completely changed his career path by coming to Denver.

Oh yeah they were definitely signing him more on flashes of his ability. The red zone success he had, the speed, the ability to play slot and outside but you are looking at a free agent getting real open market value as a starting level WR in his prime

But his path was very similar to Riley Cooper, or Golden Tate, who got a lot more. I think he could have gotten similar market value to those deals (Tate got more per year, and nearly double the guaranteed, Cooper a lot more per year and a little more guaranteed). Jacoby Jones got nearly the same guarantee coming off a 250 yard season. Andre Roberts got more guaranteed from Washington coming off a year he was trending down and lost his job to Malcolm Floyd.

again hurns for 10mill
maclin for about about the same
or a 24 year old allen for 11
Hurns isnt close to 11 or even 10 per year. You arent factoring in the remaining year he had on his rookie deal. Its barely over 9 mill this year then it drops down to 7, 7 and 8 for the next three years. His deal is much more reasonable than most think.

With that said, 11 per year for Allen isnt bad.
