Assuming that you're referring to the possibility of trading for Samardzija... I agree with the assessment that this would be a bad idea. If anything, you're more likely to get a worse starter for the second half of the season simply due to regression to the mean... and Samardzija's career stats suggest that he would only be a marginal upgrade at best.

Agreed if you look at current performance. However, given the potential high cost (in terms of prospects, etc.), I'm still not convinced that it would be worth it to get Samardzija...

... especially considering that Jimenez's spot in the rotation can now be filled by Gausman.

I'm curious to see if we actually do a 5 man rotation or a 6 man rotation. I don't see a down side in giving each starter and extra day.
