rickey henderson never had a 200 hit season. there are 4 other guys in the 3,000 hit club who also never had a 200 hit season.

name them

hint: we saw 2 (maybe 3 depending on age) play. 1 is prehistoric.

Just because he was recent: Beltre?

So apparently the Mets and Yankees agreed on a deal for Bruce

Alderson went to Wilpon for approval and Wilpon said "no trades with the Yankees"

Many think Alderson will quit over this at seasons end

The Mets took a nothing prospect over 2 "decent prospects" from the Yankees, all because of their insecurity

Loserville

and the Yankees didnt want to spend another $4M to pass Boston

Mike Illitich bought the Detroit Tigers in 1992 for $82MM. This past April, Forbes valued the club at $1.2 billion.

That is fucking staggering.

In theory, they could have lost nearly $45MM every year that they owned the team, sell it this year and break even.

Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in '72 for $8.7MM. Forbes valued it at $3.7B.

They could have lost $82MM per year for the last 45, sell it and break even.

oh shit, I thought they both had 3000 hits. Ted had 2654 and Barry had 2935. I find it hard to believe Bonds wasn't blackballed, the guy had a 169 OPS+ his final year. I don't think he would have limped his way to 3000.
