Dumbass doctors will probably attribute XFL's death to corona virus instead of sh*tty product or just plain ol' pneumonia, right guys?

Andy Dalton's dream of being a starter is now over.

I wonder if the NFL will adopt any of the ideas the XFL had. They did institute the red challenge flag from the USFL.

Virus or no virus, this league never stood a chance. Minor league football in the Spring will attract only so many fans.

I saw the week one highlights and thought it looked surprising pretty good. Then I tuned in the next week, and god damn, whoever put together the highlight tape did an amazing job.
Perfectly put.

I watched about 4 games and all of them were shit shows (plus the Viper uniforms were actually worse than Oregon).

But... they had years of funding and were doing everything right this time, I heard. And despite it being MAC level play with a bunch of stupid rules, they were really onto something, or something.

They did have a great business model. No matter how much money Vince had up front couldn’t take the hit of missing so much revenue.

no, you didn't
I never had any faith in this league. Obviously I wouldn’t have guessed “pandemic virus” as why it failed but it was never going to succeed. I watched the first game opening day and didn’t watch another. It just didn’t hold my interest. It felt like the AAF or whatever. Intriguing but then once I sit down and watch it, it’s just not good.

Once the NFL started poaching players that was it for the XFL.

I think something will happen again later.
This time around the NFL was helping the XFL.
Think they like the idea of a minor league for the NFL. So even if it isnt the XFL, but some other lettered league. Think the NFL will help a real minor league system. They can throw players in there but more importantly see how different (sometimes wacky) rules will work before they consider them for the NFL.

The XFL taught me that SEC refs suck in pro football also.

Watched about 5 minutes total. I know there were some supposed “die hards” in here though. Lol

It is football in feb and march which is usually a dead period for sports on the weekend

That's of course if you exclude the beginning of the baseball season, the peaks of the playoff chases in the NBA and NHL, the PGA tour, and of course March Madness. But yeah, other than those, sports are pretty much dead during this period.

Baseball doesn't start until late March/early April. XFL started in early February. More than half of their season is played before the first pitch of the MLB regular season.

As for your point about NBA/NHL, those leagues barely had any afternoon games which is when 3 of the 4 XFL games are played. I don't watch golf except final round or 2 of majors so that doesn't apply to me....so back to my original point, XFL provided something to watch as Feb/March is usually dead for sports on the weekend

Like he said. The dead season. Sans nba and nhl layoffs, and March madness. The others are as boring as watching chess
