He has a highlight video on youtube. As a junior he spent most of the time lined up as the left defensive end in a three-man front. So he was not going up against the other teams’ best tackle. However, he played a lot of right defensive end as a sophomore. He is a very long player. He is tall and has very long arms. His most effective move is getting his long arms on the other teams’ right tackle and then disengaging when the running back or quarterback comes near. That's how he made most of his plays. Not a strong run defender when teams run directly at him because just doesn't have lower body. However it is very good backside run defender and made a lot of tackles by chasing down the ball carrier. Made a lot of tackles on read options by staying with his assignment and not letting QB get outside. His gift is using his length to get into the backfield and get a hold on the quarterback. Not what you call violent striker as he is more of a drag down tackler. What I like about him is that he just makes the field smaller because of his size. A lot of times he makes a play just by reaching out and grabbing hold of QB's jersey even though he's currently being blocked. I can see WVU using him a lot as a rush end on third downs, especially from the left side of the defense. Getting a pass rush from the left side has been a problem with WVU for two years now.
