Assuming that as the players currently are, factoring in age/experience/injury history, and assuming that either would have a great attitude to be with the team. Who do you take, straight up?

I believe I would want a QB who can utilize either one of these two guys to their full potential.

Talent wise I would say it is pretty even. They are obviously not the same type of players, but both are big play threats. Injury history gives the edge to Patterson. As a Vikings fan it is hard not to factor in Percy`s attitude.

Hit the nail on the head here...
I would take Patterson just for the fact he can be a true #1 wideout.

I'm looking forward to Patterson's continued growth this year. He has the potential to be the face of the franchise in a way Adrian really hasn't. This kid is affable and funny. AP is a stud, but he's never been one to grab the spotlight. Patterson could do that.

One played at Tennessee and the other played at Florida. Obviously Patterson is the better player.

I like CP better in the slot, even if he becomes the "star receiver": his true talent is YAC, MW and CJ are better at stretching the D. In other words, Cordarelle has the rushing moves (screens, slants, jet-sweeps), Wallace and Johnson have more the speed and deep threat skills.

You're probably right this season, but at the time of the op's question the Vikes had Jennings and no real deep threat. Wallace will definitely be the best deep threat option, simply because he is the fastest. But CJ and CP are both the same size and speed, so assuming the CP develops his rout skills this season, I'd imagine they'll both be fighting for that 2nd W/O spot.
I wouldn't mind seeing CP in the slot, but just not sure he would thrive cutting across the middle.

I've have very little hope for Patterson as a Viking at this point.

He got in Norv's doghouse and I doubt he finds his way out.

I just don't see how he makes an impact on this team without a long term injury to one of the top 3 WR's. Wright is a solid slot WR. He's not going to get snaps over him in 3 WR sets IMO. And they obviously really like Johnson. And Wallace isn't getting paid $10M to sit on the bench.

Obviously they do use rotations (not as much as some past offenses have but still plenty) so he will get a few looks in certain sets. But I just can't see him getting more than 10 or so snaps a game unless one of our top 3 guys go down with injury. Obviously someone will get hurt eventually so he does at least make for some good depth and that really is going to be his only chance to shine.

And another really bad sign for Patterson: Diggs who was just drafted in the 5th round is your prototypical WR kickoff return specialist. That was clearly a pick in case they don't want Patterson around any longer IMO.
