Yes. For one-two years.

I like what he brings and the Pens only need a few pieces to be legit (already have a pretty solid contender as is). The underpaying/fair contracts have been few and far between this FA period.

That was the first team that popped into my mind too. If two people believe it, that automatically makes it fact.

@Gambo620
NHL source just confirmed to me that an Eastern Conference team has offered Coyotes Captain Shane Doan a 4-year deal worth more than 30 mill

bear in mind, that's an overage deal. On the books no matter what.

I wish this was true. According to Arthur Staple of Newsday the Isles are done. Garth spent 8.6M in cap space, not actual dollars to reach what Wang believes will be the Cap Floor next season. For some reason SnowWang believe the Cap Floor will be going DOWN next season.

Well, depends on what the new CBA looks like, but yes, that is a dangerous contract to touch. I just pray it's not the Devils and that Lou learned his lesson from the Rolston deal.

i wont say i'm not concerned about it being philly.

homer makes some good moves, but he's also very questionable at times.

gotta think this is a team that wants to make the cap floor though, having that cap on no matter what would be a blessing for them.. if he retires, they still get to keep his cap hit, but dont have to pay him (right?)

Hahaha, if that is the kind of deal it takes to land Doan, I want no part of it.

I'm thinking Florida, Winnipeg (or very outside chance Ottawa). He would bring grit and veteran leadership to teams that need something extra to become real contenders..

That's my best guess

I'm with Cmon in thinking it's a typo and the tweet meant "$20 mill"...

Just to put Wellwood's contract into perspective... His numbers last season were VERY close to Shane Doan's. Yet Welly only gets 1 @ 1.6m.
