At least if we had Cousins our WR’s would go back to having insane stats.

I think the same could be said for Lock being out there ... Teddy really lowered the bar

One is a fact one is an assumption though. Lock failed in his opportunity yet it doesn't mean he couldn't down the line. I love Lock but he set the bar pretty low the year before.

I don’t get this sentiment. We have had Lock out there. He didn’t exactly light up the passing game. Make all the arguments/excuses why he struggles but Lock has had a fair share of issues that don’t make him a clear improvement.

I believe Drew has made a significant improvement, but I am not sure if it is enough to consider being a starting QB. If we miss out on Rodgers and Wilson, I am not sure that I am looking to trade for any other QB to be the starter. I think we would need to bring in another guy, Tyrod Taylor or Gardner Minchew to complete with him. If there is a QB in the draft that Paton feels is the guy he wants, then get him. If not then fill out the team with talent that when you find your QB the loss of draft picks won't hurt as bad as the talent has been built up prior to the trade.

For the record I think Shurmur was a large part of the offensive struggles.

It would make a great story though. something that hasn’t happened before.
Guy drafted, hopes high - rough rookie year topped off with good string of Ws
Year 2 crowned starter without competition, and really struggled. Some would even say a turnover machine.
Year 3 - lesson learned, competition brought in and loses out to said competition. Starts last three games of year, looks decent while losing all three. But still drives HC crazy.
Year 4 - amazingly transforms to 37 TDs and 3 INTs (stats not pulled out of thin air) and leads Broncos to a shocking SB title!

Write the book!

How bout Deshaun Watson??

Not saying, just asking. They're doing everything they can to get the hooker mess cleaned up. Deshaun wants to go to court but the girls don't, their lawyercertainlydoesn't and the texans justwant to get it over with andgethim off their books. Now that Flore is out in Mimi, Watson is available to anyone.

Not sure Watson wants to go to Denver. Carolina is probably as likely place as any.

If Flores is hired by Houston don't count them out. Flores and Watson are very close.

Hey, Tom Brady is available after this year. ;)

He was getting the ball down the field, to the WRs .. Yes, I like Lock a lot, however, my comment was made because of the Cousins comment - that getting the WRs bigger stats doesn't necessarily mean a more successful team ...

We don't need to spend 35 million per year on Cousins to get the WRs involved if that's the only upside when we have Lock under contract

Going 4-1 as a rookie starter isn;t necessarily failing ... By that logic, Josh Allen failed in the early going too ..

But be that as it may, my comment was more based on the WRs, and while Lock did, in fact, have Sutton, Patrick, Jeudy, Hamler - and even DaeSean Hamilton all playing significant roles, and going into each game, any one of those guys was positioned to have a huge game - not to mention Fant and Albert O -- if the only upside of Cousin is getting the ball downfield and padding the WRs stats, Lock could do that, and has done that .

It's a good thing, but not necessarily the only requirement for winning ...

Why fork over 35 mil for a guy that will not inspire any excitement when we have a guy who'll do that very same thing ....

Stats wise, Carson Wentz has had seasons comparable with Cousins .. We'd probably get 27 to 30 TDs from Wentz with single digit INTS, passer rating hovering around or over 100 - but does anyone want Wentz ?? ..

You guys are better off waiting til post 6/1 then trading for Ryan

Atlanta is likely in full rebuild and they need the cap space

Ryan would only cost you 16M next year, wouldnt cost you anything in the 22 draft as Atlanta cant trade him til June and hes off the books completely in 2 years so you can still go QB early if you want and have him sit

Plus you could likely get him for less draft capital than Cousins too as hes 36

I would have responded sooner to this, but I was busy cleaning up the explosive diarrhea I had immediately upon reading it
