I went to the college basketball national championship last year and sat in relative nosebleeds. Even with the loss, it was completely worth it and one of my most cherished sports memories. Barring some sort of mental issue, it is something I will remember clearly for the rest of my life.

This is why I'm considering it.

That good huh?

Yes, I thought so. The coolest moment I can remember, when there were four minutes left in the game and it was tied. You could see the ten players on the floor and think, "Forty years from now, millions of people will remember what those ten guys are going to do for the next ten minutes." It was so tense and electric. And you could just tell how monumental it was for the hours leading up to the game. It was a level beyond any sporting event I've been to, and I've been to the Rose Bowl, B1G Championship (Football and B-Ball), NFL playoffs, MLB playoffs, and tons of huge regular season games.

Now, I love going to sporting events live. I travelled about 15 hours total to watch Wisconsin and the Bears play on a weekend earlier this year. I've driven alone from Madison to Columbus just to watch a football game. I love the intensity of sporting events and can clearly see certain moments and feel certain emotions or senses that I felt in games that are now 5-10 years old. I will always be a backer of live sports and it blows my mind that people think the TV is comparable or even better (it isn't...both from a viewing or a sensory perspective). So I may be coming from a different baseline than you.

But I can tell you clear as day, the next time the Bears or Badgers play for a title, I will spend big money to see it happen.

So right now the Alabama vs Clemson game has tickets down to about $200 each for the nosebleed section.

I live less than 30 minutes from the game.

I'm considering going, but with the nosebleed section it kind of seems like I'd be going just to be going rather than going for the best experience.

I'm kind of thinking the TV experience would actually be better.

What would you do?

If I had never been to one. I would go, just to have the experience and I would DVR the game so I could watch it again.

If I had already been to one, I would stay home to watch it.

I've never been able to go to an Alabama game

National Championship Game.

I'll be taking my youngest son with me if I go.

But Alabama in a national championship game. I'm worried I'll look back on this in 10 years and go - YOU FUCKING RETARD.

BUT, I do enjoy a good tailgate and so forth

Are you fucking kidding me right now?

Take yer arse to the game bech!! :gaah:

You going? Hmm.

How much were those tickets again? Im 11 hours away and am still debating trying to get in myself.

Vividseats seems to have them the cheapest.

$197 currently for the cheapest nosebleeds.

$60-$90 for parking.

Yeah, parking is always the rub. Cabs will be super pricey too that day.

I just found some somewhat decent tickets for $250 on Bama's side, but it's still nosebleed.

This. Although I do understand why TV can be better. Come on man. This is ridiculous. I'm planning a vacation to Ireland for the first week of September, because Georgia Tech is opening the season there September 3rd against Boston College. It's going to be a fucking awesome experience if I get to go, and I'll definitely get a ton of pictures for you guys so you can see what Ireland looks like. A National Championship game 30 minutes away? That's blasphemy to not go for that cheap man.

I guess the question should be to you, would you rather cry in the privacy of your own home or in public when Clemson beats your Tide?:heh: jk.

In all serious go, it's a lifetime experience you need to go, DVR it and you can watch the close up later.

I'd go.

Gameday experience, being there, is much better than tv. You can tape the game and watch it on tv at your leisure.

Yes! Anybody who uses DVR(Which should be everyone by now) should do this. It's just common sense.

I don't have DVR(or cable). But it's not an issue because of reruns and youtube.
