Well, here we go!

A couple thoughts:

Would rather be the road team. We have been so good away from home. Being the favorite and starting at home is a concern. Which leads me to this...

We have to, at the very minimum, split these first 2 games. If, for some reason, we can't hit Gallen and Kelly and head to Zona down 2-0, throwing a clunky Scherzer and a BP game in Arizona in must win situations is not ideal.

Very slight edge to Arizona SP. Definite edge to Texas on offense. Both are good defensive teams. Arizona better on the bases. Slight edge to Texas middle relief. But I'll take Ginkel and Sewald over Chapman and Leclerc in late innings.

Rangers will have to be ahead going into 8th and 9th innings. We were a terrible comeback team this year so this is crucial.

Bottom line: IF the Ranger offense shows up this series , specifically Semien and Lowe, I think we win it. But if we go into one of those streaky, free swinging, bad pitch selection slumps...we lose.

Really hoping this is finally our year!

don’t be so down on the team at home. While it appears we are the road warriors in the playoffs, we still did handle Baltimore at home and had a good home record in the regular season.

the only team we can’t seem to beat at the globe is the Astros. They’re not coming thru those doors thankfully.

As we approach 5 hours until game 1 starts, I have to be honest and say I never saw this coming in 2023. Can any of us honestly claim that we saw any of this after the Seattle debacle?
