I know we only saw him 7 minutes against Chatt but what I saw Martinez is miles ahead of him and accelerating.

What I was thinking when I threw this up. I suspect part of the deal is that everyone was hoping Martinez would make huge strides with ball security and in the passing game out fo the gate.

Seems I can remember similar issues a few years back with a certain Heisman winner too. Balls on the ground, bad pitches, people talking about his bad throwing motion, etc.

I went with 1-1..............I have no more love for Taylor than I do any other player on the team. I love all things related to the Huskers, including every player.

But just being real, Taylor was 90% of our offensive production, and the other 10% was probably because the defense was keying on shutting down Taylor. So I cannot honestly sit here and say that I think Brion Carnes would have put up 385 yards, and if he couldn't, I don't think our offense would have done enough to win.

1-1, Not saying Martinez is great by any means but he is way ahead of Carnes at this point. Carnes is just not ready.

I watched the whole Nebraska v Miami game from 95 and TD Tommie was pulled for poor play and Brook played great and poor and was then was pulled and Frazier was put back in the game. It took both QB's to win that game. I don't feel we have that option right now because our O-line isn't that good. Even the Turmanator won a game at K-State that year.

unfortunately carnes is not ready at all. he is confused by defenses and has not picked up the offense yet according to what's happened at practice. he is great against the base defense (like we ran in the spring game) but if you throw in blitz packages and other confusing stuff he doesn't know what to do. he is still young and has time to pick it up (hopefully) but as of right now we would be in BIG trouble if he had to lead the offense.
