On rangers opening day Russell Wilson talked about why he cant be the best QB to ever play and that he knows hes not the best right now and that he has a long way to go but one day when its all said and done who knows.

Nobody can say who the best of all time is even now. There will always be debate between Montana, Elway, Marino, Manning, Brady, etc... It just depends which parameters you are using to judge.


When its said and done in 15 or more years there is no reason why Wilson couldn't get into the conversation. That isn't to say he will or won't but he has as good of a start towards it as you could ask for. There's a lot of games to be played between now and 15 years from now so who knows what'll happen.

With how the game has changed over the years it is going to be hard for anybody to take that title out right. There are very few positions that even say have 90% of people agreeing who is the best ever. Right now off the top of my head all I can think of is maybe WR with Jerry Rice. Most would agree (unless your name is Randy Moss) he is the top guy. Every other position seems to have some major names at the top that could have an argument made for them.


Wilson definitely has as good of a chance of any of the young guys right now to get his name in that hat. He has a long way to go though as I am sure all of you know. I would definitely like my quarterback to be saying things like that and then go show it on the field that they are working towards that. If you are not out here to try and be the best then probably don't want you on the team.

Well that's the attitude I hope every player at every position takes so I don't have any issues with that being his goal.

The reality is under the current way the Seahawks are built to win he won't get that consideration since they are built by playing great defense, running the ball, and having the QB make plays when he needs to.

Of course that's the reality now and he still has another 15 or so years of left so no telling what happens in that time.

Hold up a sec on that. 9ers fans of all fans should be aware that perhaps the greatest QB of all time was not as "physically gifted" as many others. Montana didn't have the physical gifts of Marino, Elway, or even Manning but he gets my vote for GOAT.
No reason to think that Wilson can't throw his name into the hat. I'm not saying that he will for sure but I've learned in the short time he has been in Seattle not to doubt his capability to make almost anything possible.
