Willie, Waylon, or Merle?

I can name literally dozens and dozens of others who are actually better song writers than Willie Nelson..I mean even Hank Williams was better..... but I'm just gonna leave it at that.

And that came off as bit condescending towards Luke the Drifter, and that my friend is fightin words.

Hank Sr was a great songwriter in his own right, but his timeframe was just too short. Willie is still writing original songs today and has been since the mid 50's.

I'd put Jimmie Rodgers in the same category as Hank Sr. Great talent, great song writer, pioneer(hell, he was a pioneer for Hank Sr), but they just died too young.

I remember buying CDs and not until I put them in my CD player did I realize the entire damn album was rerecorded songs. Not bad, but not what I wanted to hear.

He had some tax problems and had to sell his catalogue to Sony I think and that's about when his rerecordimgs started flooding out.

Hell I never liked any of them to be truthful. One can't sing worth a shit, one had to have a heroine junkie do his best song to make it known and one never did anything notable outside of being an outlaw and wasn't as good as Charlie Daniels to be honest. And as far as prolific writing let me know when any of them come close to Bernie Taupin, Elton John's lyricist. (Flame on now if you want, I don't care)
