naw, he will keep growing and progressing no matter what kind of line he has. I'm sure we won't see the same dumb throw down field into coverage with protection on top with a late throw. You only need to do that once to learn that's a bad deal.

People are just hoping he's not going to get creamed out there before the line gets its shit together. Every single Seahawks fan is just crapping themselves waiting to see what Hardy does to him this week. And there are others just as vicious as him waiting in future games.
Let me adjust my post. As long as the OL is iffy RW won't trust it and leave the pocket quickly.

It's not the physical element that worries me re: his long term development, it's the mental part of the game. And that's what's the most impressive, is that despite the history of jail-breaks and clean shots on him, he hasn't developed bad habits with his footwork in the sense of how he throws the ball.

What he IS doing, is getting nervous in the pocket now and then, but when he does set to throw, or throw on the run, he does it right most of the time.

These sacks of course will be blamed on the o-line, WR's not getting seperation and RW himself. The real truth is that Tom Cable has not coached well/drafted players for the pass rush. I place the high rate of sacks squarley on the feet of Cable for allowing the line to crumble to wrost in the league.

Back on topic...RW will hit the 4000yd mark, he's to talented to not be able too. I see this happenning when Lynch retires and our run first/pass 2nd changes into a slightly more balanced attack.

It shouldn't have to wait for Lynch to retire. They give enough tries to the passing game to reach that goal. Graham getting more in sync, Richardson coming back healthy and picking up where he left off. Kearse getting hot again, Baldwin getting better looks with so many other threats out there, all will give him targets to make more than 5y quick hits to.

Then it's up to Bevell to get these players in position and call plays that works with a horrid o-line.

It's up to everyone. Line has been improving a little on run blocking and at times they pass block, they just need to keep getting more consistent. Bevell has been calling more pass plays down field already as Lockett has been getting more involved and Graham has seen a few more balls as his routes have improved.

They asked Pete about Richardson's return and he said they were starting to run him in advanced routes last year before his injury. The kinds where the ball is supposed to be in route before the break etc, and the question is where will they be with him in his return? Does he have to go back to more basic stuff until he has some time, or can he be more of those advanced move kind of route guy. Only time will tell.

Those opportunities will be there. Can Wilson find them and hit them? Will the receivers be ready enough when they come to take advantage? We will see.

"When defenses don't blitz, Wilson is hanging in the pocket and delivering the ball better than he ever has, completing 74.4 percent of his passes and averaging 8.45 yards per attempt. His sack rate drops all the way down to 7.7 percent when teams rush four or fewer."

Now lets look at something here "San Francisco's defense ranks 28th with a sack rate of 3.7 percent." That hurts, when you face a team that is just straight up crap at rushing and they are getting to the QB in less than 3 seconds then more fingers need to point at the real problem which is the oline. Russell Wilson does not trust his oline and rightfully so, he will make mistakes because of that lack of trust but you have to understand what he is seeing. You can try and blame Russell for not standing strong in the pocket but the main reason is he is trying to save his ass and make something happen behind the worst offensive line i have EVER seen play for the Seahawks.

:L Trying way too hard bro. No one is insulting him. Ask him, or ask Pete. They will tell you he has room to grow in that aspect of his game. It doesn't mean anyone thinks he sucks.
