Sure it will happen, but it will be at least a couple years after Westbrook’s.

I guess saying that Derrick Fisher accomplished more (individually) with the Lakers than Durant did with OKC triggers it.
Meant 15 years. But fair enough.
Derek Fisher did for the Lakers than KD did for the Thunder LMFAOOOOO
In that case, why not go back 20 years?
Sooo guessing Houston shouldn't retire Harden's jersey if he plays the rest of his career with them and don't win a title.....
That been taken out of context.
I said what Fisher accomplished at a team level, winning 5 rings as the starting PG and being an important piece in lengthy playoff runs was damn important for the Lakers.
Not once did I say he did more individually or even pretended he was a better player.
And the bolded is what we're arguing - individual achievements. That's what you get gauged on for your jersey being retired as a player.
Would Kobe's jersey be retired by the Lakers if you purely look at 2003-2007/8?
Given that it's a 4 to 5 year stretch without titles, probably not.
Did Durant only play 4 to 5 years for the Thunder?
There's your answer.
Is OKC going to retire Hardens number too?
Eight. Not that much of a difference in individual accomplishments though. Kobe probably did more actually.
You're nit picking now and starting to stray off topic. Durant did more than Kobe did in that 4-5 year window you hypothesized about. They both got all star appearances, and MVP award, all-nba 1st team, scoring titles (Durant has more). What did Kobe do during that time frame that Durant didn't?
So you only get your jersey retired bc you win a title?? LOL that is news to me
Then you should tell the Lakers to unretire Elgin Baylor's number.
