So team achievements mean nothing?

So if a franchise never wins a title, then they shouldn't have any player's jersey's hanging in the rafters?

You do realize that the Heat have Tim Hardaway's jersey retired and he never won a title let alone took the team to the Finals. Having your jersey retired with the team is about what you accomplished with the team. As has been mentioned before, Durant did quite enough to warrant having his jersey retired. He probably won't because he's not liked in OKC anymore.

Yeah but they needed SOMETHING to go up in the rafters over there...

:dhd:

Oh, I'm sorry my team was an expansion team that came around in the late 80's. Your franchise was already in the double digits in titles by the time the Heat played in the first game.

Do you want to compare the overall number of titles in the last decade between the two, pumpkin? Didn't think so.

I guess Mark Madsen should have his jersey retired as well. A guy like Garnett should never get his jersey retired in Minnesota because he never won. Do you see how laughably bad that logic is? Of course you don't Wiggy.....I mean....oh nevermind.

Garnett was a good one.

What about Jason Kidd with the Nets? Chris Webber with the Kings?

Currently, the Magic, Clippers, Thunder, and Raptors don't have any retired jerseys. Any predictions on each team's first?

The Magic should have Shaq retired, but there is still too much butt hurt there. It's been debated a while but it's gonna be a minute.

Chris Bosh is probably on the outside looking in for the Raptors. I'd say DeRozan could be a potential candidate.

Thunder will likely be Russ first. Unless something really weird happens with him and the organization he'll get first dibs even if they considered Durant and he's retired earlier. Russ will be the first, no doubt in my mind.

Clippers is trickier. I really don't have any idea. Thoughts @Mecca

Probably Blake.

Remember all that Blake Dr. Martin Luther Ghandi Sister Theresa Nelson Mandela JFK Shit they were spewing in his free agency pitch?

That's really sad, if you think about it.

That's our Gold Standard?

Harsh.

This has to be the most embarrassing, boneheaded Shit I've seen in awhile.

He had a historic 8-year run in that city, and for that particular purpose he should by all means have his jersey retired. But, at the end of the day - As soon the going got tough, he went running.

You be the judge.

#Koward

did he win a championship in OKC?

Sooo guessing Houston shouldn't retire Harden's jersey if he plays the rest of his career with them and don't win a title.....

Both are certainly deserving. But wait, they never won titles with those franchises.

I guess saying that Derrick Fisher accomplished more (individually) with the Lakers than Durant did with OKC triggers it.
