They both got all star appearances, and MVP award, all-nba 1st team, scoring titles (Durant has more). What did Kobe do during that time frame that Durant didn't?

The Lakers don't retire the jerseys of non title winners.

Technically, he was part of the '72 team. But he retired early in the season. Can't remember if they gave him a ring or not. I think they did, but not 100% sure.
