come on.......you are comparing a small court to a big field

might as well compare a race track to a football field

Been done already:lol:

No comparison.

The passion for college football due to its physicality is what we like. The week to week pressure, along with the figures and importance of each and every game. You lose one, you are out of it from a National Championship to a Conference Championship to even a lesser bowl game.

The importance of each and very game is critical. The weekly thing trips right into everybody's work schedule, and we can all get amped up during the week heading into each and every Saturday game.

It fits. It is perfect. It is physical, and every game means a helluva lot. Throw in state pride and it is unbeatable in my opinion.

Watching a college basketball game with 2 great teams is one of the best sports experiences out there. The problem is that there really arent any great teams anymore. Just freakishly athletic teams with poor fundamentals and teams with white dudes who have really solid fundamentals.

Football >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Basketball in general. The college flavor isn't the issue.

Every game in CFB matters. Every one of them is huge. Can't say the same thing for CBB. Lose 4 in a row there? Can still win it all. Try losing 4 in a row in CFB and finding anything redeeming out of your season.

but that same argument could be used to go against CFB. if a FB team loses then their fans become disinterested in the season as they no longer have a chance to win it all. look at the sugar bowl last year. UF was #3 in the BCS and couldnt sell its allotment of tickets while louisville could.

in CBB you will never see the day when a school cant get enough fan support for a final four or even an elite 8.

every team in CBB has a chance is probably the best argument for CBB being better

But not every team should have a chance in competitive sports or its a garbage product of randomness and low quality

And they don't. The big boys win in the end. It sounds like you're just bitter about Norfolk St. :dhd:

I agree that they don't. College basketball isn't in the least bit balanced. If players had to stay multiple years, the top recruits would at least be spread out at least three times as much but currently a team like Kentucky can get the top recruits every year and have a completely different team every year. Its a farce.

Both of your arguments only hold for the elite teams of the sport. Losing one game does not drive away the fans of any but the top 3-5 teams in FBS? The experience of game day with the tailgating and atmosphere in the stadiums is a draw all on its own. Fans live and die by every play and there is nothing like those explosive big plays to get your heart pumping.

In CBB only fans who even follow the regular season every single game are probably the most elite schools. Almost no one follows it closely until it gets close to the conference tournaments. That tells you how much less of a sport overall it is really. Don't need to go any farther than that.

Football is way way way more popular and there is absolutely no doubt about that. Doesn't mean there aren't fans who prefer basketball over football, but they are drastically outnumbered. :suds:

It just is. Football lasts a whole season, CBB lasts a month with March Madness.
