Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed left winger Darren Archibald. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Archibald, 20, spent the 2008.09 and 2009.10 seasons with the Barrie Colts of the OHL. He registered 108 points (51-57-108) and 97 PIM in 125 games played. In the 2008.09 he was named to the OHL Second All-Rookie Team. During the 2010.11 season he has split time between the Colts and Niagara IceDogs, registering 30 points (18-12-30) in 24 games with the Colts and an assist in three games with the IceDogs.
The 6’3” Newmarket, ON, native has appeared in 21 OHL playoff games, registering 17 points (9-8-17).
