Rex Ryan. It will be interesting to see how he handles the Sanchez/Smith situation.

Here's a question:

How does a HC last 10 years in this league with a sub .500 record and no playoff wins? What does Marvin Lewis have to do to get fired?

I think the Jets are going to give Ryan an extremely short rope, only 4-6 games. I think anything less than 3-3 will result in him taking a walk. They are clearly the most under achieving team due to not only coaching, but some boneheaded front office moves also.

It all depends on the mindset of Woody Johnson. New GM, new OC, they have to realize they are not an ultra talented team. Their starting RB is Chris Ivory, outside of Holmes they have no real receiving threat. Their D is filled with aging vets and rookies. If Rex can make this team competitive I think he's safe.

Unless Woody just wants more headlines and attention as he wanders closer and closer into Jerry Jones territory.

In no particular order...

Dennis Allen - Raiders....(revolving door in oakland keeps spinning)
Ron Rivera - Panthers....( the clock is ticking)
Jason Garret - Cowboys....(underachieving big time in big D.)
Jim Schwartz - Lions....(lame duck, imho)
*Rob Chudzinski - Browns

*this will be his 1st year as HC, but he's basically just keeping the headsets warm for new OC Norv Turner.

I've been asking the same thing for years.

I don't think it will be Garrett.

Jerry doesn't make it a habit of firing coaches during the season. It surprised me that he did with Wade. Usually, Jerry lets them play out the season and then fires them. Hell, he was openly courting Bill Parcells while still keeping Campo until the end of the season.

By being the best thing the Bengals have had in 20 years?

He's only 1 game below .500 over that span, in arguably the toughest division in the AFC..

Brian Billick coached in the same division. He was 18 games over .500 and won a super bowl. He lasted nine years.

Did you know...

if the Bengals make the playoffs this year, Lewis will be the first head coach in the team's history to make three straight playoff appearances.

Got that right.

Bisciotti (hope I spelled that right) may be the most underrated owner in the NFL.

It was a mutual parting of the ways from what I remember.

lol...now I'm splitting hairs.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Brian Billick never came close to duplicating the success he enjoyed early in his career as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, and it finally cost him his job.

Billick was fired Monday, less than 24 hours after his team concluded a season of high expectations with a disappointing 5-11 record. His entire staff, including defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, also was dismissed.

"I believed that it was time for a change, I believed that we have the nucleus of a team that can get back to the Super Bowl, and we felt that in the next five years we had a better chance with a new coach than leaving Brian in that position," said owner Steve Bisciotti, who made the decision after consulting with team president Dick Cass and general manager Ozzie Newsome.
