Who gets the 3rd seed out East?

Every division is guaranteed a playoff team but once the teams are in the seeds are assorted by records.

Nope only thing that is guaranteed by winning your division is a top 4 seed but if a team like WSH or Detroit have a better record than the Atlantic division winner that team would be the 3rd seed

I really think it will be ATL, Detroit is still really young but next year it will be Detroit regardless of Rose and the Bulls rebuild.

I am not sure what the West is complaining about, the 3-7 seeds are anybody's ball game in the East. 5 teams only separated by 2 games, what a dog fight!

It's why Boston is currently ahead of Detroit. Winning your division gurantees you a top 4 seed. That's it.

As for who gets the 3 seed...I guess right now I would say Hawks or Wizards. But honestly, who the fuck knows with this conference.

I'm biased, but I think it is the Pistons.
They are starting to come together as a team and their next 15 games are pretty soft (except Houston) for them to make a strong push to get up there.

If Boston lands Asik and when Rondo comes back I think there the 3rd best team in the East. The way Sully, Green and AB have played this year I think we have a decent starting 5, if we land Asik. We also have some bench depth.

Yes, that is just what I'm thinking as a Pistons fan--Let's repeat the '03 draft.

Though it's completely different than a series, the Pistons have won at Miami and at Indiana this year (and to balance it out they lost to those teams in the Palace). You never know

I think the Pistons get overlooked some, even by the teams playing them, then they get half way through the game and realize they have some talent you have to take seriously. Their chances in a 7 game series for those reasons limit them but I would love to see the matchups.
