Are you looking at the SousVide Supreme unit? For that price, might want to look at something like the Sansaire circulator...You can buy it, a plastic tub and a top which could/most likely would work better, especially since it seems you've kinda figured out the way to suck the air out and kinda vac seal a bag without needing one, which would cost more :suds:

Yes, it was the supreme.
There is also the VonShef for $128, or $208 with vacuum sealer and baggies.

I'll tell you one way to make steaks taste better, leave them out at room temp for at least four hours before grilling. I wouldn't go any more than eight hours, though.

This is what I usually do.
Season them one night, refrigerate overnight, take out +/- 2 hrs prior to grilling.

Meat processor for the beef we get from my uncle. Alaska for the salmon and Halibut my brother gets when he goes up every few years and fills our freezer full it's all fresh caught either the Kenai or Russian rivers for the sockeye and king salmon and the berring sea for the halibut..pork arms chicken from the grocery store
