Because they were supposed to be good before the season began but they ended up being not as good.
Preseason #12? I'd bet anything you can't name their starting QB from that year without looking it up. Makes no sense.

I can’t name the QB but it doesn’t mean that they couldn’t have high expectations for themselves coming into the season.

Again, it makes no sense. 8-5 the year before, preseason #12, lost three games during the season. There have been far better UGA teams.

This year! Harbaugh had a team filled with his recruits, a senior QB who was a 5* recruit, plenty of depth, and a VERY favorable home field schedule.

I don’t think he has had a better team on paper. :gaah:

I think you might be right on that. BTW, who is your likely QB for next year?

You guys lost 3 games in 2014, including two games to unranked teams that finished the year a combined 14-11. How was that your "supposed" to be year?
Put it this way, it was the most disappointing season of my life time when you factor in preseason expectations.

That roster was full of day one and day two draft picks, but it was a terrible choke job.

2012 and 2017 far exceeded my preseason expectations, so going into the seasons I didn’t think they were our year.

What preseason expectations? Also, your RB stable was outrageous, but I don't see any other elite offensive players. I'm only counting one player on defense that year that was drafted before the 3rd round, also. Are you thinking of a different year?

Isaiah McKenzie, Chris Conley and Reggie Davis are receivers currently on NFL rosters from the receiving table. And the QB, Hutson Mason made it to some NFL practice squads in the NFL.

Leonard Floyd, Lorenzo Carter, Davin Bellamy, Reggie Carter, Jordan Jenkins, Ramik Wilson, etc are players on that defense that are currently on NFL rosters.

2013 was supposed to be a big year, but it was one the most injury plagued seasons I can recall, and all those players were back in 2014. The fanbase was incredibly optimistic preseason 2014.

But wins were pissed away against South Carolina and Georgia Tech, and one of the worst coaching jobs I can remember happened in the Florida loss, so it was a big time disappointment.

Davis and McKenzie hardly played for UGA that year, and only McKenzie is on a roster. Conley is nice but is no more than a WR3/4 on most teams. Regardless, that's nice that they're on NFL rosters, but the only non-RB I can see that was a 1st/2nd round pick is Floyd. Mason was decent but obviously was never a great QB.

I guess I must be missing something, because I can think of several other UGA rosters that were more talented. If anything, I would say that year was one of the more average UGA teams that I can think of, outside of RBs.

Too many undefeated seasons, no natty, smh:
1911,1912,1920,1921,1947,1968,1969,1973, & 1994

Then the 1 loss seasons:
1906,1919,1939,1940,1942,1948,1971,1977,1978,1985, & 2005

Now the 2 loss seasons:
1910,1915,1916,1918,1923,1927,1941,1946,1952,1954,1956,1959,1962,1967,1972,1974,1980,1981,1991,1993,1996,2008,2009, & 2017

And yet we still only have 2 titles

I have no memory of the year 2011, so I'm guessing that year.

1996 ASU was around a minute and a half from winning the National Championship. Done in by PI's and a blown coverage. A whole bunch of NFL players.

Hey, though you didn't get that title, the first LSU-Bama game is still an all-time classic.
Why do you think he can’t remember that year? It was so boring it put him into a coma.

this decade, 12/14/16/17

I remember people got hyped about 11 as well but I knew team wasn't ready. 17 was by far the biggest letdown though.
