I don't think either is very special and if the bet was those two versus the field, I think I'd take the field. But, I'm not going to venture a guess on which other QB will be the best when all is said and done.
I think at the end of the day, neither of them was a good enough prospect for Cleveland to ignore the opportunity to bolster the rest of the holes on the roster, especially when you consider the much higher rated prospects that could potentially be available in other areas of need.

Kaep...Is that you???
no I just dont like any of the QBs. In a normal QB class these guys would be late 1st rd QB's. Not a Nig fan of this QB class. Im ok with taking a QB in the 2nd or 3rd rd.

If the top guys are bottom 1st typical talent, what does mean for the 2nd and 3rd round guys? Are they 3rd and 4th round guys actually? That's bust/backup territory.

I actually agree with that totally. I don't see anything special with either guy other than the position

That is assuming the top guys are Wentz and Goff. Also, who is to say how close they are. Two picks away in talent or two rounds:noidea:

If scarcity is driving up the value of Wentz and Goff, a rising tide lifts all ships IMO.

Next year might be a better year for QBs as it is.

The "grass is greener" of the NFL. Several of these guys this year would've been rated higher if they had come out sooner. Whatever the perception of next year's QBs this year, that can change in either direction (and lately does, down).

Agree. But what I'm saying is maybe a lot of teams don't view those as the top 2 and even if they are them being "bottom first typical talent" doesn't mean the next tier is "3rd or 4th round guys". They could be the next tier and still bottom first/top second talent

Sashi Brown just got the GM job this year, and is working with DePo (having Dodger flashbacks....)

And Sashi Brown sounds delusional, he thinks the Browns have a young nucleus and wants to maintain the sustained success. Say what?

Yeah but I would take my chance on the field over those 2. It wouldn't shock me if one of the other QBs turn out better.

I took what he said more as he is wanting to build and maintain a young nucleus for long-term success. And it's also not like Cleveland has no young talent whatsoever. Guys like Joel Bitonio, Christian Kirksey, K'waun Williams, Danny Shelton and Duke Johnson have all showed that they can be valuable pieces, and none are more than 2 years into the league.

Ok, I can get that but what about sustained success.

Well, that all depends on what he does with these picks and what Hue Jackson can get out of his QB, whether it ends up being RG3 or someone in this draft or next year's. Sustained success is more than just 2016-2017. It's about making the right choices now so once this roster comes together, we can be a consistent contender. We've been in the shit for so long, anything different is fine with me.
