that might end up being one of the biggest busts for a #1 pick ever
It does not look good at this point. Maybe he needs glasses!how do you only draw 3 fucking walks in 30 games at High-A ball
so either he has THE worst plate discipline ever, or teams are just throwing him strikes all day long knowing he can't hit for jack shit
he will be 20 in a few days. hes been a pro for 2 years now, and hes actually gotten worse in that span
11 more games and hes got a grand total of the same amount of BB's...............3
sportin a robust, .488 OPS
what a joke
Picking guys fresh out of HS is risky. They will probably draft from college ranks this time around.Moniak finally hits his first HR of season yesterday. average up to .251...with 1 BB for season finally as well
w00t?
Haseley finally starting to heat up as well
but the articles ive seen regarding Phillies don't really lie, while the farm system has improved a great deal, theres been way too many misses with 1st round picks over the last 15 years...........way too many
Cornelius Randolph sucks, Moniak right now sucks. Haseley, an advanced college bat, is just now starting to gain some traction like you hope a 22 year old playing high A ball should
tonight is a #3 overall selection, hopefully eventually one of these 1st rounders will eventually turn out to be a gem
yeah, sounds like most of the options up top are college players. looks like we should walk away with someone nice.Picking guys fresh out of HS is risky. They will probably draft from college ranks this time around.
i don't know about BA, but every mock I saw had him going 3 or 4.With the 3rd overall pick in the draft, the Phillies selected third baseman Alec Bohm from Wichita State University. In mock drafts, Bohm was projected to go 7th by ESPN and 9th by Baseball America.
Bohm is considered the best college position player who can hit for both average and power after having a tremendous junior season with the Shockers. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound right-handed hitter batted .339 with 57 runs, 76 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, 16 home runs, 55 RBI, 39 walks and nine stolen bases in 2018, a year after putting up impressive numbers in the Cape Cod League. The 21-year-old is a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award.
They say his arm is only average. Already talking about moving him to 1st base. With the 3rd overall pick in the draft, the Phillies selected third baseman Alec Bohm from Wichita State University. In mock drafts, Bohm was projected to go 7th by ESPN and 9th by Baseball America.

They want his power bat. We can use a 1st baseman in 3 years. Santanas contract will end then. What do the Phillies FO hope to gain by selecting a guy with a noodle arm with the turd overall pick? Why don't they play him at catcher? What the hell are they thinking? Seriously? You have the third overall pick in the draft and you select a guy who can't throw anything all that well? Geez, how dumb can you get???
