Dont feel too bad Hokies. UVa held La Tech and got them to 4th and 1 with 1:45 left. La Tech was going to punt the ball and we had too many men on the field, giving La Tech an automatic 1st down. That's how the game ended.
Time of possession was actually equal so no not really. I never said it was all on the defense. Its obvious the defense kept us in the game in the first half but 2 blown plays when we needed defense the most made the great performance meaningless in the end.Well the defense HAD been on the field the entire game.
Clemson, FSU, Miami automatic losses. UNC will beat them (VT) (notice how I'm starting to distance myself from the team?) if they (VT) let this game keep them down. Heck maybe even if they (VT) don't. That's 5 losses guaranteed with a likely 6th. UVA, Boston College, and Duke will be tough as well. VT is now a middle of the pack team in a horrible conference. That's what happens when you let inferior coaches hang around too long. Eventually it catches up
Are you an alumni?
I didn't think so....
We will be OK without you.
You sound like a 5 year old. Both teams play to win. You realize that right? If you bail on a team when they have a down period, fantastic. That is your prerogative. You are one of THOSE fans. I am not. No worries. Do what you will. Run to the SEC.

I've only seen one Va Tach game this year, so this isn't about you guys in particular, but there are definitely teams that have more heart than others. To dismiss the claim that certain teams lack fire "because both teams want to win" misses the point.
I disagree with the OP on the lack of fire argument. In addition, this is kind of his go to thing. It gets old.
I thought fire was there. Coaching was lackluster, for sure, as was prep. However I am not going to bail on the team over that. I will hope for changes. I also think that a lot of people are not giving enough credence to the injuries we have right now and where they are.
I have been rooting for this team since I was 3. I am not going to turn them off. Sorry
Even though I am heartbroken we lost the game, I have to say, the second half is definitely the best we've looked on offense all season. I really liked the way Holmes played. They just made a spectacular play in the clutch, IMO this makes up for the Georgia Tech game, which we really shouldn't have won, but that one was more important because it's ACC. I'm going to keep my head up, the team showed a lot more promise than I've seen yet and I think if we keep building we can beat Miami and at least give Clemson and FSU a run for their money. I think LT stays and we have a really good team next year with more experience in the backfield.
