Dont feel too bad Hokies. UVa held La Tech and got them to 4th and 1 with 1:45 left. La Tech was going to punt the ball and we had too many men on the field, giving La Tech an automatic 1st down. That's how the game ended.

Well the defense HAD been on the field the entire game. The offense is killing the team even when you think it's the defense. Newsome's O-line is making the D-line soft, etc

Time of possession was actually equal so no not really. I never said it was all on the defense. Its obvious the defense kept us in the game in the first half but 2 blown plays when we needed defense the most made the great performance meaningless in the end.

Clemson, FSU, Miami automatic losses. UNC will beat them (VT) (notice how I'm starting to distance myself from the team?) if they (VT) let this game keep them down. Heck maybe even if they (VT) don't. That's 5 losses guaranteed with a likely 6th. UVA, Boston College, and Duke will be tough as well. VT is now a middle of the pack team in a horrible conference. That's what happens when you let inferior coaches hang around too long. Eventually it catches up

This game is comical. We can't blame our defense for losing. Our offense took 2 quarters to make a first down. That's just pathetic.

Our players were out there playing with no fire. Hats off to Cincy - they played their asses off and their personnel had a spark that we haven't had now for a long long time.

This all being said, the refs were horrible. To me it looked like the players knee was down without the ball crossing the end zone - but hell, I am sure they would have scored anyway - our D was gassed.

If VT loses to UNC I'm watching SEC football the rest of the year exclusively. I'm not going this team ruin my love of the sport

Beamer is ancient. Not only can he not make the necessary changes AFTER he made the mistake of hiring those 2 deadweight coaches, he is also not a motivator anymore. Time for some new blood or continue to rot

I didn't think so....

We will be OK without you. :thumb:

Lmao what? I'm the backbone of the program lol. But that's good that you can continue to support this trash I'm watching now. Good fan. I've just been waiting for a season like this to come along though. It was inevitable with some of the coaches they have

You sound like a 5 year old. Both teams play to win. You realize that right? If you bail on a team when they have a down period, fantastic. That is your prerogative. You are one of THOSE fans. I am not. No worries. Do what you will. Run to the SEC.

I've only seen one Va Tach game this year, so this isn't about you guys in particular, but there are definitely teams that have more heart than others. To dismiss the claim that certain teams lack fire "because both teams want to win" misses the point.

It just depends. I know there is enough talent to win games but the playcalling is not what it could be. This has been building for a while. Year after year of giving the same worthless coaches another chance. I can't watch that

Even though I am heartbroken we lost the game, I have to say, the second half is definitely the best we've looked on offense all season. I really liked the way Holmes played. They just made a spectacular play in the clutch, IMO this makes up for the Georgia Tech game, which we really shouldn't have won, but that one was more important because it's ACC. I'm going to keep my head up, the team showed a lot more promise than I've seen yet and I think if we keep building we can beat Miami and at least give Clemson and FSU a run for their money. I think LT stays and we have a really good team next year with more experience in the backfield.

I disagree with the OP on the lack of fire argument. In addition, this is kind of his go to thing. It gets old.

I thought fire was there. Coaching was lackluster, for sure, as was prep. However I am not going to bail on the team over that. I will hope for changes. I also think that a lot of people are not giving enough credence to the injuries we have right now and where they are.

I have been rooting for this team since I was 3. I am not going to turn them off. Sorry

Exum needs to move back to Rover. I will risk what comes with a true freshman like Manning if it gets him out there and experience. Exum was a playmaker at Rover and needs to go back there.

BC - Fuller
FS - Jarrett
Rov - Exum
SS - Manning
Nickel - Bonner

I wasn't the one who said they weren't playing with fire but I'm not going to disagree totally with it either. How can Beamer be a motivator when he's almost 70? He certainly doesn't show the ability during games

The talent will be better but if the coaches are the same then don't get your hopes up. Stinespring and Newsome at key positions on the staff...I just don't see much hope for better things. On the plus side no one is leaving early...except maybe Exum. He's the next Darrell Revis lol.
