Some more great stats...

Broncos are on a current 8 game win streak when you include the playoffs. Obviously longest in the NFL.

During that stretch the Broncos defense has held opposing QB's to only throwing 6 touchdowns while picking them off 7 times. They have also had 30 sacks during that stretch.

I would say maybe one of the biggest areas of improvement this year is our 3rd down offense. Last year we only converted on 32.96% of our 3rd downs. That was 28th in the league. This year we are converting on 48.48% of our 3rd downs which is good enough for 5th in the NFL. Huge improvement. Lots of reasons for this increase such as OL play not giving us as many 3rd and longs. We can also point to the fact that defenses now have to cover the entire field. We can point to our OL holding up better against blitzes or even just 4-man rushes. We can point to better playcalling. Lots of places we can look but that is maybe one of our biggest jumps when it comes to stats this year.

3rd down is the stat right behind wins for a QB
Last year I would hide my eyes on third down
This year it's like bring it on

Both the long TDs Sunday were on 3 Rd down

Really excited to see this

It is definitely a stat that is up there. Broncos have finally been able to sustain some drives and really march down the field. Before this last week we struggled to finish those drives off but we finally saw them put it together this week. We saw the long touchdowns that really destroy a team's confidence and we saw the 2 goal 2 to go touchdowns that have been missing earlier.

I will say we did miss Stephenson though especially in the run game. When running to the right behind Sambrailo we only averaged .75 yards per carry. Not sure if he will be back this week or not. Tampa Bay just having watched a half of football do not look like a very good defense against the run or pass. So could be a big week for our offense to really show we have something here.

Got home from Cincinnati.

Was a good time. Great game to go to. The Cincinnati fans were pretty good for the most part, besides the one drunk in the row in front of me who had to be removed twice (came back a 2nd time after police escorted him away) he got into it with a Bronco fan who didn't see him coming down the row and didn't move PRONTO for him so the drunk made it into a huge scene, the Bronco fan and his son were a little upset so words were exchanged, finally the son was smart enough to go get the police after this guy had his fist clinched like he was gonna blow his face up. (This guy was huge too he'd have done some damage) I was about to shield my face from blood spattering on myself.

Game was a bit hot, but not bad. I am sure everyone hit on the ups and down from the game so I won't go into that.

After the game I met up with Zaire Anderson and Kayvon Wester.... Brandon Marshall was with the trainers so missed him this time around.

Also spoke with the father of Casey Kretier who is from close to where I live. He was telling me how Casey had just accepted a teaching position in Iowa City and a few days later got the call from Denver. Casey had thought his chances were over with.

Riley Dixon, Jeff Heuerman, Cody Latimer's family were all near me after the game so got to see those three come over annd mingle with their family. Dixon sure did have a weird looking tux on. Shilo Keo had someone he knew so he came out. Eric Studsville came out and talked to some people he knew. He seemed like a very nice guy in hearing him speak to the family and their young children. I believe it was a former HS teammate he was talking to. Derek Wolfe had a lot of family there and came out as being that he played at Cincy you can imagine. For some odd reason Pac Man Jones family was on Denver's side after the game and one of the members was talking to Kayvon after he and I had talked for a bit.

Von Miller came out in his wacky looking attire waved at everyone and moved on with a big smile on his face. Ty Sambarillo also came out for a short time. Everyone else headed right for the bus. Oh yeah Bennie Fowler's family was on the other side of me and he came out for a bit to talk to them. I think I got everyone now... ;)

I don't know how many of you have gone to road games, but let me tell you there is nothing better then winning on the road as a fan. I know it's fun to ceebrate with 70,000 other Bronco fans, but the feeling of winning on the road, watching the opposing team leave in silence and disgust while you walk out of the stadium high 5ing the Bronco fans that did attend hte game is a great feeling.

I will never forget watching Iowa beat Michigan State on the last play of the game a few years ago (worst fan sportsmanship I have endured before the game) and then you could hear a pin drop around where I was sitting. (I was sitting down pretty low) Then up in the upper left hand core hundreds of Hawkeye fans cheering. I swear it was like I got abducted that game.

My last road Denver game was in St. Louis two years ago and that was not exactly fun.

I also met the brother of Muhammad Ali who is from Louisville, KY not far from Cincinnati.

Overall great time, wish I was still there. Still have two days of vacation in the meantime before it is back to work, then at the end of October out to Denver I go.

Thanks for sharing! Sounds like a great experience and glad you got to meet up with some of those guys. Too bad about Brandon Marshall. Sounds like he mostly was just struggling from either dehyrdration or just plain exhaustion as it does sound like it was pretty darn hot down on that field. 2nd game in a row where it sounds like the heat was really getting to some of the players. I know CJ Anderson talked about how exhausted he was this past game from it being so hot.
