Waiver setup question....

Had a quick question for you guys. May try something, but not sure how it will work or if it will.

The waiver settings for our league is one day.

Tremendous oversight, but a great deal of my WRs and RBs are on bye this week.

Trying to pull a quick one, drop one of my receivers who are on a bye (Alshon Jeffrey, Jordy Nelson, Sammy Watkins) and pick up someone, maybe Larry Fitzgerald to fill in for me. I am in terrible need of a win. After the games are played, was hoping I could go back and pickup whomever I drop (Jeffrey or Watkins likely) off of waivers. I am currently #2 of 8 in the waiver order.

Can this work? If so, how do you propose I do this? Who would you drop? Any help is appreciated...

You gotta have someone else to drop. I suppose your scenario could work, but if #1 in the waiver order needs a WR, you've lost him.

I am thinking I could drop the WR right before gametime and still pick him back up on Wednesday.

Good luck with that. The #1 waiver owner would have to be of the inactive type to not pick up one of those WR. Who else is on your bench? You don't have two QB do you?

Very true, and that might very well happen...

#1 has Roddy White, Steve Smith, Emmanuel Sanders and VJax. I imagine he would drop White in that scenario and pick up who I drop. Assuming he is paying attention (he probably is)At that point I could pick up whomever he drops, keep whomever I pick up (once again looking at a couple guys, notably Fitz)

Another thing I may consider (actually probably a better idea) is see where I am at in the matchup going into Monday night. If I am only down 10-15 points, Wayne, Randle, and Beckham are all available and going Monday night. If I am down 20-30 points, may not be worth the risk. Hell, Not expecting it... But I guess I could be winning there as well... Not expecting to be but weirder things have happened.

How is Fitzgerald on waivers?

I play in an 8 team league with a max of 4 receivers. Which is total bullshit....

But I have already given my co-worker/friend/commish plenty of hell about it. Last year we played with max of 5 WR.

His setup is a 16 player roster with a maximum of 2QB, 4RB, 4WR, 2TE, 2D/ST, and 2K = 16.

So you are forced to carry 2 kickers and 2 defenses, or have an open roster spot for one if those positions.

My commissioner is an amateur huh?? I think he is high on something..
