Bleh, would have been great to have a win @Duke on an off year but oh well. We just couldn't make a shot at the end. It was a good game but Finney smith has got to start making shots and FT's. I think we see a big jump from this season to next in his performance with an offseason to work on everything.

His missed FTs hurt, but I thought he played very well today. Dominated the boards against a big front line, dished the ball well, and played solidly imo.

Yeah he did play very well today as well as the last few games. He's going to be scary good and a great all around player next year when he has an off season to work on his mid range, short range shot and defense. His 3 pt shooting, handle, passing and rebounding are already pretty good as it is.

DFS did play fairly well today. Maybe someone on the staff lurks on the board because I noticed he handled the ball right much today; ironic considering how we had all be talking about that this past week. They need to have a couple of plays where he initiates the offense as a "point forward". He was able to get himself open off the dribble, get into the lane, and usually made the correct read on whether to shoot or pass (something our PGs even struggle to do). It's too bad he missed a lot of his shots though.


Overall, the game was just a little disappointing. It was a perfect storm opportunity for us with Duke coming off a quick turnaround combined with the fact they missed a lot of 3s. When Duke can't hit 3s, they are ripe for the taking. But our same bugaboos (FTs and stagnant offense) just kept from winning. No need to into detail because we've all seen it before. Just another example in what's getting to be a pretty big book of examples.

Yes... It did. If we were on the bubble or something it wouldn't have, but since this was just going to be a "Nice, you beat duke. Now you're... exactly where you were in the ACC standings"... this little football on the bball court was pretty awesome.

What the heck changed between now and two games ago? Did the fact that we hung with Duke at Cameron play a factor? Decision might change again if (when) we get stuffed by Clemson tonight.

I believe it was more of just the emotion of losing heartbreakers.

The game could be on FSN or FoxSportsSouth, whatever they call it. The NCSU-Miami game was last night.
