Ah yes. Southwest Championship Wrestling! I remember it well.

I was a young kid and don't remember much about my first ever wrestling show other than it was in Victoria, Texas and I met Ivan Putski.

Only one I have ever been to. In Seattle as a kid in, I think, 1983 or 84.

Don't remember the whole sub-card. I do remember it had the likes of Chris Colt, Playboy Buddy Rose, Hack Sawyer (Buzz Sawyer's real life younger brother, later to be known as Brett Wayne in Atlanta), Matt Bourne, Jay Youngblood, Rocky Johnson (The Rock's dad), etc.

The triple main event included:
*The "local" main event of Billy Jack Hayne vs. Rip Oliver for the PNW Title (I recall Playboy Buddy Rose interferring so Rip kept the belt(?)

*The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering vs. the Russians (Ivan Koloff, Nikita Koloff, and Nikoli Volkoff) for the NWA Tag Team belts. Don't recall the official outcome, but I do recall a chain being involved and the Road Warriors chasing the Russians out of the arena while still in full fight mode! Double-DQ?

*Dusty Rhodes vs. Ric Flair for the NWA World Title. I just remember that both men bled a lot and Flair kept the belt.

Good show overall as I recall. The only match I really cared about was the Road Warriors vs the Russians. 2 of the greatest tag teams of all time! (Of course Dusty and Ric are too, but I was a huge RW fan back in the day).

SummerSlam '96

I don't remember a lot of it. One match I do remember is the Taker v. Mankind boiler room match. That was cool, and the first of its kind. Then Paul Bearer turned on Taker at the end.

1972... at the World Famous Sportatorium at Industrial and Cadiz in Dallas. Fritz Von Erich vs Johnny Valentine. My sister was screaming at Valentine and I thought he was going to kill her boyfriend. Good times.

Mine was in 94, in the recently renovated Tacoma Dome, but business was so bad back then they put up a big ass black curtain and cut it in half. It was cool cause Shawn Michaels tossed his little village people cop hat in the crowd to one of my buddies.
